Probably been done before, but I thought it could be a good thread..

Mine was Agaisnt the Hawks in 1991.

I went as a Dunstall/Dermie fan, also went to the 1989 GF, so leaning towards the Hawks. I was only 12 though so no real loyalty set in, apart from a love of Port Adelaide, the club not composite franchise(dont hold it against me).

After watching the Crows beat Hawks so convincly I begged Mum and Dad to get season tickets.

Never actually got to a game until 1994 game at home against the Hawks. Lost by about 15 goals and remains our biggest to defeat ever at home.

It was the beginning of the end of Graham Cornes' coaching career.

I went to the first trial at Football Park against Essendon (the beginning of my hatred for that club) ... I was a younger tacker back then.

Sadly I missed the first real game vs Hawthorn as I swam for a club and there was a competition on that night, it has always been a regret that I wasn't there ... I remember listening to the end on the radio back home and thinking we were a shoe in for the flag ha ha.

I went to the next home game against Carlton where we lost. That started my paranoia about being a jinx :)

vs Kangaroos in 94 or 5, I was about 8 or 9 at the time. It was shit weather, and Carey got stretchered off. I think we won from memory. Havent missed a game at home since 1999, except when I have been interstate to see us play, and stayed the weekend after. :thumbsu:

Me too. Saw that game and also Crows vs Melbourne in 91 (played mini league, got 4 kicks :D). Season tickets from 1992 onwards.

First game was amazing obviously. The thing I remember most clearly is the whole crowd chanting "Dermie's a w***er" after he KO'd McDermott. And Darren Jarman missing an easy goal to the delight of the crowd.

west coast vs adelaide at subi.. would have been 1998.. if i remember correctly, we won by about 30 points.. think it was round 22? hm dunno.. but it was good nonetheless

My first game i saw was Adelaide vs North Melbourne at Football Park in 1993 when Modra kicked 10 goals and took mark of the year. To this day that game is still the best game of football i have been to.

Weren't we down by 5 goals at 3/4 time? I remember Gary Window commentating that game for 5AA claiming that Modra ripped his shorts on the top of the goal post after taking that mark.

My best would be the final against Melbourne that we somehow won. I think it was Gerard Healy that said he had never seen a side so out on its feet and beaten at 3/4 time come back to win. This year's Showdown is right up there. Also the miraculous Hawthorn comeback when we had 1 goal at halftime.

That Modra mark vs North in 1993 would have to be one of the top 5 Footy Park moments of all time ... surely?

I cant remember exactly but i can remember North Melbourne had a purple patch in the third quarter and skipped out to a handy lead and then in the last quarter the crows dominated. Mods was sensational, gave Martyn and Archer a football lesson that night. From memory Carey kicked 5 goals for the kangaroos as well. It was attacking football at its best.

Can't remember whether it was 1991 or 1992 against WC, or i'm not even sure it was WC now, god that's a long time ago. My folks didn't have a clue about Aussie rules so a couple of girls from school took me with their families for an aussie experience. I'd listen every away game on the radio, in my bedroom alone as knowone else in the house was interested back then. All these years later my parents and brothers make sure there is a crows game on when they come to visit in Melbourne, 17 years is a long time in football....:p

My first trip to the G... I was back from London for a few weeks and my dad drove me to Melbourne to see it, god it was good.

I was so young that it's hard to remember really.

I remember being super excited to go and see us play against the Bulldogs for a birthday present, so that must have been 1992 from looking at our playing history. It was a couple of days before my seventh birthday and I remember literally counting down every single minute for the two or so hours before my grandad picked me up. I must've been driving my parents mad. We lost in embarrassing fashion. It was so hard being that young to see us lose so horribly in Melbourne, only for us to win at the games I couldn't attend! On the plus side, I got to see the whole team getting off the bus and I let everyone walk past until Scott Lee got off and I went up to him for his autograph. He must've been chuffed to have a little kid in a knitted jumper with #13 on the back let everyone else walk by just so I could meet him. Also, I must've got into the change rooms somehow because I remember one of the trainers gave me a pie and a bottle of coke because it was my birthday in two days. :D

I went to my first AFL pre-season game in 1991. I had just moved up from the country so I had never gone to a game. I remember it being Hawthorn vs. North at Waverley and there was fireworks. I just looked it up and the Foster's Cup GF that year was those two teams at Waverley, so it wasn't just my imagination running wild. I got John Platten's autograph but I put it on the ground a little close to the urinal (I was 5 years old, gimme a break) and accidentally pissed on it.

You are correct

R8 Adelaide 4.5 10.8 13.8 19.9 123 def North Melbourne 6.2 9.5 17.10 18.13 121 Football Park 45562 16-May-1993

I remember pretty much nothing of it but it was a pre season game i think agaisnt sydney and i think Modra and Lockett both kicked bags.

Against West Coast in 93, round two i think? Got a feeling Mods kicked 6 at night at Footy park and we got up by 15 points....hmm..maybe

Remember just getting a buzz at the stadium (was 8 years old) and loving the old man for taking me (and buying me a Crows flag)

Was that back in 1995,the semi final of the pre-season competition. Modra and Lockett both kicked 8 goals.

That would have been it. 95 would mean i was 9 years old at the time. If i was taken to a game before that then i don't remember it.

I never went to a footy game as a kid. My first time at AAMI was against Melbourne in 2003. On the way to the game my dad complained that the Crows (who were 6th or so at that stage of the year) were winning games but never putting opponents away and winning by a decent margin.

I think we won that day by 70 points or something.

I made up for it by going to every home game and one interstate game in 2005 though.

I was at that game i think - didn't Dunstall give Paul Rouvray a towelling?
