Fisher >>>> Roos

Brown >>>> Blues

Great trade for both teams, even better for the Blues if youre not able to keep Thorton

Thoughts??

Brown is shiit ! I wouldnt want any player from North .

Back to school idiot. What about Hale, Harris, Smith. Dont even start. Keep to the topic!!

It is tempting:) Brown is a big body who could play back. To be honest despite our scores I think we have a few reasonable forwards and can afford to lose one. Brown back would release Big Red to go forward:) I really can't see the kangas going for it though:D

If Fisher doesn't want to stay we should try this.
Fisher, 2nd round and priority pick to Geelong
Carlton gets pick 7 (maybe we could also get their second round pick).
I think thsi offer would be more then fair. It would give us a shot at Leuenberger or Selwood. I geneunily think this deal would still be great even if we couldn't get Leuenberger as we really need an extractor in the center and Selwood fits this role.

Imagine these midfields

Midfield 1

Simpson Bentick/Blackwell Walker
Leuenberger Gibbs Murphy

Midfield 2

Simpson Selwood Walker
? Gibbs Murphy

If we got him it would have to be as a fullback to cope with the power forwards. I really don't think Brown is mobile enough as a CHB. T-Bird actually plays his best football as a CHB so that would be his slot:) Big Red then has the option of floating back or forward:)

Well he's 24 until Feburary, so he just slips in ;)

It's one of the fairer trades I've seen about the place. I think if you have a backline of O'hAilpin, Thornton and and Brown you have a set of players that can, depending on the situation, play on any Forward set-up.

Although it's likely the same could be said of Bower, when he gets a bit bigger.

I wouldn't push for it, but if Fisher decides he wants to leave it would be good compensation for us. I doubt Brown is going anywhere given he's in their leadership group.

Fisher is another player we cannot afford to lose.
Once Kennedy bulks up and gains more experience Fisher would be a fantastic 3rd string forward with the potential of kicking 30+ goals a season.
He justs needs a clear run without injurys (and a bit more goal kicking practice).
Its only September 2006 but....
Round 1 2007

F: Betts Fevola Waite
HF: Fisher Kennedy Houlihan

Marking power, strong crumbing and a bit of class.
Its only speculation of course but Fisher certainly has a spot in our best 18/22.

Kouta will play forward next year, if one of Bower, Hartlettt or a draft get in there then then Lance could move up as well. Fish is a handy mark, but he is not essential as we have Waite and Kennedy.

Who is Leigh Brown?

A player that is being grossly overrated on this forum.

No more North duds to Carlton
eg McKernan Morrell Teague Pagan Elshaugh

are u stupid!!? we could swap brown for a much better player. bradshaw, polak, high draft picks, maybe tuck, id even swap him for thornton but fisher, he is a dud and very injury prone waste of a trade unless we recieve carltons 2nd pick aswell

I agree and I think both players and clubs would benefit from the trade.

I reckon its a fair trade; in fact I reckon Brown is slightly ahead of Fisher. Don't know it works for us though. A backline with Brown and Whitnall would definitely lack pace, not sure thats the way we want to go, given the trend developing in some parts of the league towards quick full-forwards like Williams, Brown, Johnson.

Of course if Brown could release Whitnall to go forward that could be handy.

I cannot believe that people are even considering trading Fisher for Carlton. Some of you are GROSSLY overrating Leigh Brown - even Kangaroo supporters think he is a dud. Fisher is younger with much more talent. Don't believe? Why not have a look at some threads from the North Melbourne board:

Kangaroo supporters horrified of news that Brown is close to re-signing with the club:

Kangaroos supporters disgusted with Brown performances

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=264541&highlight=brown

Kangaroo supporters fearing that Brown will play - think him playing is tanking:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=264316&highlight=brown

Supporters don't want Brown at North next year - one even offering to give him up for nothing:

More on horrible Brown performances (plus a couple others)
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=263236&highlight=brown

Suggestions that Jonathan Hay is better than Brown:eek: :
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=246916&highlight=brown

More proof of how bad Roo supporters think Brown is:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=262396&highlight=brown

Need I say anymore:confused:? Harding is the Kangaroos version of Livingston - a high draft pick who has achieved nothing (although, in fairness he had a couple reasonable seasons - maybe another Hay:p). Anyway, the last thing we need is another mature dud from the Roos - espically at the expense of Fisher who has talent and ability - and unlike Brown supporters aren't disgusted when he's playing.

Hahaha absolute GEM of a post blues4flag :thumbsu:

Well done on exposing the North supporters trying to sell us their duds, made me laugh :)
