CARLTON forward Brad Fisher will return to the field in the VFL this weekend just 14 weeks after having LARS surgery on his knee.

good on him, i know hes not the best player going round and probably wont make it past this year, but good on him for getting back so fast

We missed Hoops yesterday on Hodge down back.........but we doubly missed Bower on Buddy.

Not that it would have made a huge difference with the pathetic effort the mids gave, but still.......might have kept it closer for longer.

Tex would be a good in. Missed his run.

Great to see Fisher back on track, however just can't see him fitting in to the side at the moment, especiallly if Houla keeps up the good work and Irish and Hendo continue on their improving ways. Wish nothing but the best for the guy but unless we cop a heap of injuries I just can't see it happening

There is still room for a lead up half forward in our team. No one does it well at the moment...with improved rebound from the back half a good link up forward would be worth their weight in gold. Frustrating that in the glimpse of Fisher that we had against Sydney in the Nab Cup he was playing that role well.

Wish him nothing but the best.

Great news for Fish. Wish him all the best and hopefully he returns to the senior line up soon. We can still certainly use him in and around the goal square.

Awesome news on Walker as well as we are missing his run and carry. Was in top form before this latest injury. :thumbsu:

We only have the one nominated rookie so far (Garlett) and I am pretty certain that we can have 2 on the senior list plus a rookie for anyone who is on the long term injury list. If White does go back to the rookie list, then at least we all know what he is capable of and would be expecting him to be in the nominated rookie list from the start of next year after Garlett gets promoted to the senior list.

Wrong terminology used? Elevated is what I'm looking for I think

I think that he will be out for a couple of weeks with his knee anyway and he should come back into the senior side after the break as the second nominated rookie.

The only way he would play again before that is if someone, as TG suggested wdgann do, kneecaps t-bird.

Even if White was elevated for Fisher we could still elevate him.

We have 2 spots for nominated rookies on the senior list and only 1 is taken (Garlett). That means we can elevate White as a 2nd nominated rookie.

Back on topic - great news re: Fish. Looking forward to seeing if he approaches his trainign with the same intensity and enthusiasm as he did pre-injury.

Quite right here J. All moot anyway as White has a 3-4 week injury and could be elevated under the new "round 11" rule even if he was up for Fisher. I'd think though he actually had the second nominated rookie spot which in lieu of not having any veterans, we are entitled to.:thumbsu:

BB, surely you'd take any opportunity to use 'moot' twice in one night?
I got so excited I initially typed the second one with a capital M.........:p
