Great News Embley and Fletcher set to sign to end of 2006. Looks like we are building a new Dynasty. They will prove to be key Players in the future. I think the Club has looked long and hard and have some good plans in place. I am very encouraged by this.

GO EAGLES!

Embley is gonna be an absolute star. Huge part of the side and un under-estimated loss when he was injured late in the year. Both of those are ripper signings.

Great news.

Takes the pressure off for the end of next year when Kerr and Gardy (maybe others) are out of contract if I remember right.

Both vital players, great steps forward this year by both.

Andrew Embley - what a turn around.

Good to hear. Hopefully both players maintain the professional approach to their games next season as they did this season and the club reaps the benefits of it.

Good news- I wonder what this means in view of the continued Fido/Wirra flim flam, though.

On one hand, the situation next year when Embers and Fletch would have come out of contract and expect hefty rises was supposed to be one of the bigger reasons why the club was being tight with Matera and Wirrpunda.. So if that's out of the way at a reasonable price, hopefully it means there is more leverage to sign them?
Or if you'd like to be incredibly negative perhaps it means that the club knows we're buggered in those negotiations so they've written them off and shifted their attentions elsewhere :)

I don't know if it's relevant (yeah, hasn't stopped me in the past) but these two blokes are both guys brimming with talent but renowned as underachievers, who have lifted their game in spectacular fashion this year. They've obviously met targets - maybe their new deals were tied in with that, or were to reward them with a bit more certainty.

Great news.

Good to see a Black Ducks player become an important cog with the West Coast....

After seeing Rance, Cormack, Caton, Langsford never really make it, its good to see Embley up there. (Please don't join that list Hunter)

Oh, and well done to Fletcher too. ;)

Great news. Its obvious that the club is heading in the right direction if blokes of this calibre are signing long contracts with us. Congratulations to the club and players involved!

Well done to Fletch and Embers and good on the club.

But as Mead said the question that it leaves unanswered is what does this mean for Wirra and Fido?

Especially Fido, admittedly, Wirra has a sick mother and may choose his family over the club - which means ill hold no grudge against him if he leaves

Fido on the other hand should have re-signed by now, his negotiations is the major worry at the moment
