Three key Cats players fall ill

Three key Geelong players have fallen ill ahead of Friday's big AFL match against Carlton.

The Cats are keeping a close eye on Brad Ottens, Joel Selwood and Jimmy Bartel as they try to overcome a bout of the flu.

Did the boys catch it from those Doggies?

We'll probably make a few changes this week anyway but here's hoping Brad, Joel and Jimmy recover in time. If not who'll replace them?

Re: Three key Cats players fall ill

JC, Taylor are good to go..Lonners has a fitness test to get thru apparently so..

IF Jimmy Sel Otto and Lonners don't get up.

Out: Jimmy, Sel and Otto
In: JC, Taylor, Blake

and keep Menzel Laidler and T.Hunt in the team..

Then Freo will be sick for their first final ... then Hawthorn could be sick for their second? Oh.

The Cats strain appears less severe, with some players sent home yesterday but back on the track today.

Does that mean they were all back today?

LOL! Given it's our centreman that have caught it and nobody else, no doubt they got it from the doggies midfielders. Perhaps the doggies were spitting on us underneith the packs in hope of spreading the disease :p

Best to rest all the players with it and get them 100% for finals.

My gf is a nurse at geelong hospital, selwood is there now.... well 10 minutes ago

Ex nurse - you realise she will get the sack if anyone at Geelong Hospital reads your post.

Hasn't Joel played every game so far this year? Looks like a good chance to freshen him up anyway.

Every game this year so far and he played every game last year. Missed 1 in 2008 though. Seems to be someone that doesn't really need to be rested.

I don't think we got it from the Bulldogs, the flu has been going around and nearly everyone is getting it. Hopefully it's our of the club by the weekend, don't want sick player when finals come.
