Well done to the players that stood up and flew the flag after the Thomas bump. They all went to Reid when he jogged off afterwards.

Looking at the incident, Thomas will get a few for that.

Is there any footage of it? I was near the play but blindsided by the railings so I didn't see how far off the ball it was. I did like that our players flew the flag, but it's a shame someone didn't flatten that flopping little cherry picker Thomas. I can't really make a judgement on the decision but any time you injure someone to the head in an off the ball incident it doesn't speak well for you.

Hope he gets rubbed out, the cheap, flopping, cherry picking shit.

It's also on the 'match day discussion' thread

Yep, I loved everything about our response today.

North's response including their fans, hmm, well let's just say it was less than decent, giving a standing ovation to a player who just knocked another one out, not really the image the AFL wants I'm sure.

Our overall approach to the match was great though, we outplayed a team who was 2 players short of their absolute best, while missing a ton of players ourselves, then losing 2 during that match.

So much for the Shinboner spirit, the Side be Side spirit looked better today.:thumbsu:

Alright, I've seen it now. Thanks guys.

Definitely wreckless and unnecessary, players can't be expecting a bump when the ball is that far away and essentially out of bounds. Plus Thomas elevates to hit higher up and he'd have to given he's a foot shorter than Reid, he isn't even watching the play, making it a really cheap shot.

Scott's press conference was frankly embarrassing, how dare Bucks speak out against an incident that was entirely avoidable and left us a quality player down for the rest of the game? The idea that Bucks should remain silent is stupid, he has every right to defend his players who shouldn't have to contend with cheap off the ball sniping.

Yeah the North Fans support a Sniper who did that on Purpose and Glad the team went up and said we won't put up with that Shit

Love Scotts response to Bucks.. Maybe fat head Scott should review some of his old games, or at least talk to some of the boys he use to snipe at St. Kevin's... What a FN tosser

Agree the Scotts did the same sort of Dog Acts

Scott has the right to blast Bucks for voicing his own opinions on it, possibly swaying the MRP. But the stupid thing was, he finished off with his own ****ing opinions! What a dimwit!

I love how Bucks is bringing back a 90s style team wide mongrel, take no shit approach, 1 in all in 100% behind your team mates style mentality.

The great teams of every era were strong and aggressive across the board Hawks of late 80s erly 90s, brisbane early 00's in particular were nasty at ball and man.

Would love to see Bucks over see an are of dominance like those 2 sides displayed.

Worth looking at the North board, they're the complete opposite of us, think that Scott's presser was much better than Buckley's.

Honestly, I didn't see much in Thomas bump, he lined up Reid for the shepherd, but if there wasn't any head high contact no one would have looked twice. Mind, I wasn't thinking that when the game was on last night, I don't like L. Thomas at the best of times, let alone when he's responsible for cleaning up one of our players off the ball. It'll be interesting to see what the MRP say, because I don't know which direction they're going to lean to.

I'm with Distributer on this one.

Yes it was off the ball, but if the head clash hadn't occurred there would have been no issues.

What most pissed me off was Thomas's reaction after and all the arse slapping by the North boys.

That reminds me of this little trip down memory lane ...

You're right but that isn't the present day AFL climate where players have a duty of care to one another especially off the ball incidents where high contact is made.
