You further marginalise a huge amount of Muslims in Australia with comments like that. I am surprised that Malifice has not banned you from the thread for Islamaphobia yet.

The Folaus also marginalised a large proportion of Gay youths that want to play netball and rugby but may be unable to because their parents feel unwelcome after their comments.

So many on the left are viciously attacking many Muslims through their attacks on Christians.

What a joke of a post.

Again deflection from the reason we are even having this discussion.

Edited for you. You’re welcome

All the more reason for them to sack him. To show the views aren’t shared. Reflects worse on them as a sporting organisation if they swept it under the carpet.
Not irony at all but shows those teens there is support for who they are.

You don’t let someone treat you like **** multiple times to avoid confrontation. Stand up and show it’s not on. Folaus beliefs. Religious or not aren’t on.

The support (solidarity and financial) and sympathy that Folau is garnering on this issue would dispute that. It's clear that people are divided on it, it's not as black and white as 'progressives' would like everybody to believe hence the on-going never-ending furore in the media.

That was the same argument gay marriage proponents used to argue that a plebiscite would cause unnecessary emotional damage on young homosexuals because it would've given those who didn't agree with gay marriage a platform to express their 'bigotry'. Weird that that logic wasn't applied for this incident.

I actually haven't followed as closely as you and only have taken into account news items such as the following...

Folau had his $4m employment contract terminated in May after he made social media posts saying “hell awaits” homosexuals, which were deemed in breach of its code of conduct, and after previous warnings from Rugby Australia not to denigrate people on the basis of their sexuality.

The gist of of your quote is whats been in the general press but the verbal bit may have been in the more specialist RA media - I'll post a couple of links tomorrow, sleep is calling ;)

Gay youth suicide rates say a lot. Things need to change. Slowly is thankfully , sports stars using their status to show hatred for gays isn’t helping.

The post definitely wasn’t supportive. Funnily enough this all started with Folau publicly stating he didn’t support gay marriage and never will.

So are you allowed to offend and publicly hate groups that don’t have a high risk of suicide?

Pretty much.

Don’t even hide behind religion. Just lambast me for whatever reason you like.

See if I care.

I’d actually prefer if Folau just said he was a homophobe instead of hiding behind his religion

The irony of this reasoning is that all this hoopla surrounding Folau's rather innocuous post is that had Alan Joyce being the bigger man and just let it through to the keeper, Folau's message would've eventually faded into the ether and promptly forgotten about besides the relatively small audience that follow him.

However by punitively asserting his power over Rugby Australia, Joyce has ensured that Folau's message went on to receive a million times the attention it would have otherwise got, guaranteeing just about every gay teen in Australia knows about it with articles written about the case for months on end in the media. You just can't make this kind of crap of up, Joyce and RA seriously underestimated Folau and the fall out from their foolish actions.

Excellent summation. If he wins his case and RA has to pay him out plus legal fees, surely heads must roll at board level.

Or had an S&M fetish or a foot fetish ... actually no ... they're learned behavioural responses you're not born with just like .... I won't say it ..

You can choose to be all on that list apart from one. One you are born. That’s where the outrage has come from.

What age crankitup did you choose to like the opposite sex over the same sex ? So hypocritically stupid to say you can choose to be straight

Here’s a a quote from your idol in 2016
"It got really bad," Folau said. "I just got caught up in the alcohol, women and all that sort of stuff.

Oh wait he repented so he is ok now. What a gem of a bloke.

In case you missed it, he's claiming unjust dismissal. The question is whether the contract is illegally restrictive.
He didn’t seem to have a problem when he signed it.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the contract the last time he got in trouble breaking it.

He’ll go down in flames and not a single heck will be given by most people.

Now he’s got the Australian Christian Lobby whinging on his behalf.

Lord help us.

Can you test a newborn on day 1 and prove it?

I have to admit that I think 'homosexuals' aren't born they're made. I have quoted a few who are brave enough to be honest about it. I'm now confronted with you who say the opposite so my guess is that you feel obliged and constrained by society to say you "can't help it" because you were "born that way". Which sort of makes the whole "Gay Pride" parade scene nonsensical. I mean I can understand people making an informed willful choice and being proud but being born with a nature they 'can't help' doesn't seem to be something you would feel proud about. If you think there's nothing wrong with being gay why would the suggestion that you've made a choice to be so, be so offensive to you? I think the stance of Karla Mantilla and others is a lot more noble.
