And recycled players from other clubs and just develop from within. Keep our picks. Trade to get another top 40 pick. To have 4 picks in the top 40 would great.

Pick 6 - KPP
Pick24 -KPP
Another pick in top 40 ?
Pick 40 - Ruckmen
Pick 56 - small Forward

Pick 72 - Best available or wait till pre season draft

If Carlton trade their pick 6 for O'Keefe who is 28 it will be a big mistake.

Agree with O'Keefe. Warnock however, would be a valuable acquisition in trade for pick 24.

O'Keefe looks like he's staying a Swan anyway

Warnock and O'keefe are both not recycled players as such. Both clubs are desperate to hold onto each of them.

So what if he's 28
He's a proven star... would be an absoloute gem in our young developing team, especially an invaluable proposition in our forward line....30+ goal player, midfielder SUPERSTAR... All for him to be in the Carlton Jumper :thumbsu:

Agree 100%. We aren't as far from a flag than what most of you think. O'Keefe could help get us that flag in 2 or 3 years. He IS worth pick 6, especially if he plays in a Carlton premiership team.

Surely you jest???

A 28 year old non KPP Forward? With 60 odd games left in him maximum (assuming he remains injury free).

Christ sake - I hadn't even heard of him before this week and now we want to swap an almost guaranteed 200+ games player for him?

Learn from Fremantle - NEVER swap early first round picks in strong drafts for established players unless they are STARS (ie the Buddy Frankins and the Chris Judds of the world).

When Freo exchanged Croad for Hodge I nearly died. and Croady was like 20 at the time!

We do this and we will be kicking ourselves for the next 10-15 years watching whoever the swans select at 6 running around in the red and the white.

Long after Okeefes gone.

Right you are! Some people are trying to convince themselves so it won't hurt as much...bless 'em...

My heart won't cope...

Not exactly covering yourself in glory there. I'd love to get O'keefe, but not for draft picks, especially not pick 6. Have to be direct player swap

Bookmark this Warnock will be a star if we can get him for pick 24 it will be a sensational get.

O'Keefe is simply not worth pick 6 given where we are at

I think Okeefe is the perfect player for you given where you are at.

I would of thought that you got chris judd and resigned fevola with the expectation that they would play in the next carlton flag ... this would have to be in the next 2-3 years. The exact same timeframe that you would expect okeefe to remain a quality player.

At some stage you wanna see something for the years of being on the bottom of the ladder. If carlton had okeefe next year you would have to expect them to finish in the top 6.

or maybe i am just hoping you guys trade pick 6.

Note: Yes Ryan will be ideal in 3 years time when we are making a flag assulat but so will the number 6 pick... who will also have another 7 years left.

I want a Dynasty not just one or two good years

Have you been living under a rock somewhere ???

Alot of assumptions that we will need to part with pick 6 to secure RO'K. Have faith in the recruiting team - no way known will they part with pick 6 for anybody! If indeed we are keen on RO'K, they will need to come up with something else to satisfy the Swans. I doubt they will because we won't go overboard to nab him but we will know in the coming days. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

We have 4-5 players, and that's being generous, who turn the ball over with too much regularity.

We win the ball as wel as anyone in the comp.
We have a dnagerous enough forward structure when we use the ball well.
Don't beleive me? Ask the Lions, Tigers, Freo and Port about how dangerous and multipronged our forward line can be.

We come unstuck because we have too many guys who by hand or foot give the ball straight back to the oppositon. This cause others to be caught out of position and the perception they don't chase (Stevens) and also the perception we are slow. We are no slower than the Cats or Hawks.

We need skilled players that can hit targets.

My question to you is how does O'Keefe suddenly improve the skill level of those second tier mids aorund him (Bentick, Russ, Simmo, Carrazzo, Betts etc) and turn us from a prospective top 4-8 side, into a premiership side?

Drafting kids with high levels of skill is the key. Best available mid aty pick 6.

Hawks can have O'Keefe for their first rounder.

he would slot into our side very well. im all for getting him.
and for warnock, if we dont get him, we are down right stuff in the head..

I wouldn't trade pick six for Goodes, let alone a lesser player such as Ryan O'Keefe.

Not one Sydney player is worth pick six on his own when we're not even close to being a flag contender.

We need to have a first round pick in every draft.

I was previously for downtrading our first pick, but only Fremantle would be stupid enough to downtrade a draft pick.

It would have to be just a good ordinary player thrown in to downtrade a pick when it appears picks 6 and 12 aren't exactly a world apart in terms of talent.

Yarran could be there at 12.

I wouldn't want to end up with Vickery.
