His one off good season may have also been a reason.

FWIW apart from slightly less depth this year for inside mids we're not any worse off as a club due to the Brodie situation.

The year Nat Fyfe was drafted three clubs had multiple picks (Melb 4, Port 3, Rich 2, Sydney 2) before we chose a future double Brownlow medallist and all-round good guy. I would love it if history repeats, especially with the West Coast/Port draft swaps prior.

Logue has been terrible, the knee injury didn't do him any favours but it is not like he was great before the injury. Our back six has been dogshit for way too long. We have some good quality young KPDs in Dawson, Whitlock and Thredgold we picked up in recent times, we just have to get them up to speed as quickly as possible.

Tucker is gone now, Logue is contracted until the end of 2027, I like him as a guy, seems really nice, it just isn't working on the footy field. We only gave Pink a one year extension last year and Corr's contract is up this year and don't see him getting an extension. We have been hoping and praying for change for quite some time. We took way too long to invest in quality KPPs.

This was always the main knock here. He was put in the Young Buck Old Buck (I think that's what it was called) podcast with Mundy before Dave retired, because of his likeable personality, and he then left to go to your mob. People were frustrated the Dockers 'wasted' a pick 8 on him as part of the deal that saw Cam McCarthy land at Freo in ze 2016 trade period. He was beset with injuries, was probably inconsistent performance-wise (when playing) and then was finally shoehorned forward in 2022 when there wasn't a spot for him in the defense at the time and sort of given more negating roles because his forward craft wasn't much chop either. I don't think he really wanted to go, but no one here blamed him for taking the money and felt he would be a massive loss.

Great guy by all accounts, but average-ish footballer.

I hope he gets game time and goes alright. I fear he won't though, and the first part of your post is funny - the comparison of the Freo vs Port fans mentality. The mental mind games. It reminds me of Brian Blessed in Flash Gordon: "Let the combat....begin!!"
