F1 Formula One Exhibition at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre

Took the children to the Exhibition at MCEC last night. Had an awesome experience. The website suggests you allow 90 minutes to get through everything, but it took us more than two hours to look at everything set up in the Exhibition. It goes all the way back to the origins of Formula One and covers the glory years of the 80s and 90s (when I first became interested in Formula One) very well. A lot of interactive exhibits, and plenty of old race cars are in the exhibition. More impressively, they go really in depth into the technology and science behind Formula One. If you're a Lotus fan in particular, you'll love this exhibition. Colin Chapman and Ron Dennis feature a lot, and there is a section on Bernie Ecclestone's influence on Formula One. There is a bit on Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher, for obvious reasons.

Opens to the public tomorrow.

Describe the merchandise set up please? Are Teams selling anything or is it generic to the Event?

Merchandise is pretty sparse, but I'm not sure if that's because it was a preview night and wasn't fully stocked. Don't expect to find much team gear. You're better off going to the place in the CBD in the Block Arcade if you're looking for team merchandise.

There is merchandise relevant to the Exhibition, which seemed to us to be pretty expensive, so we didn't buy any of it.

I should also have added that there is an in-depth look at Grosjean's crash in Bahrain in 2020. Takes at least five minutes to get the full experience, but it's absolutely worth it.

I saw it on Toronto last year. Definitely recommend checking it out. Pretty sure there is a sim there as well, or at least there was in Canada.

Wonder if this is coming to Sydney. Would love to have a look.

Pretty sure it's only in Melbourne while it's located in Australia.
