Forwards need to contest

As much as Kingsley and Playfair have improved they still allow there opponents to take too many uncontested marks. Playfair especially. Just get the ball to ground for chapman and ablett. Kingsley seems to get caught 2 against 1 a lot. Not that it's hes fault but the team should kick it in quicker or man up the loose man.

It is not essentially the forwards fault if their opponent takes an uncontested mark, I would attribute that to the midfielders or the players delivering the ball in.

Forwards create options to receive the ball, obviously, so if the disposal gets turned over you cannot go crook at the forwards. It becomes a worry when players take uncontested marks in their forward line, that's when it comes back to an accountability problem for the defence - the line who really should be manning up.

Not that it's hes fault but the team should kick it in quicker or man up the loose man.

You should never man up the extra player in a 2-on-1 IMO. Yes, bring another player into the contest, but that should be a small roving player. Invariably, the ball will be spoiled to the ground and the small roving forward will have a better opportunity to receive that ball than the two men spoiling.

Jack, what the... Playfair has been marking the ball extremely well, if out marked its been because of poor service.Catattack is spot on.Its the forwards job to team together , to create space , get to dangerous spots and go for marks.If Playfair has been outmarked generally its been a 50/50 ball or less. Any forward should have a 55/45 chance of getting the ball or better,the better the service the better the forward looks. If he starts getting to the ball and grassing them then I'll join in the lynch party but untill then Im just happy to see him grab some ball
