Convenient that Ballantyne spent most of the 2015 injured.

Why don't you have a look at his 2014 (the one where he won All Australian)?

Hands up who would take Cripps and Josh Hill over Ballantyne and Walters.

You asked for a better current duo - I've provided one.

Make up your mind.

Hill averaged a whole 0.4 more contested possessions a game compared to Gaff this year. That's about 10 touches over a whole season.

I know you're trying to bait for reactions judging from your posting in this thread, but if you're going to criticise Gaff calling him a seagull (especially compared to S Hill) is nonsensical at best.
Last thing this board, or the world, needs, is your opinion.

Hill gathers low possession numbers, this is a given. A higher a proportion of his ball winning is contested, as opposed to Gaff whose contested ball comprises loose ball gets as opposed to those where a man might be near him.

Coz that's what you want, right? Your elite run and carry players extracting the ball?

Imbecilic.
He's not elite. He's a soft outside pretender.

There's a reason you were embarrassed in the GF, and it's because you so heavily rely on Gaff to distribute the ball. That ain't changing into next year and the future. The West Coast Eagles need to stop pack skirting.

That doesn't make any sense.

Gaff also had plenty of inside 50s and metres gained. He did pretty well this year and certainly wasn't a seagull. Did you oppose him being selected in the AA team?

Would like to see your loose ball gets numbers, by the way.

Either way - back on topic.

It's endlessly amusing that your B&F is a bloke who seagulls. Says a lot about what is rated in your team, and why they were humiliated by a Hawthorn team that put half an effort in.

Gaff is excellent on one wing. Only a fool would doubt his output this year. But we need another on the other wing (not Masten). Enter: Lewis Jetta.

I see this troll-fest is still rambling along with the full blessing of a certain mod.

Is it likely to get back on track any time soon?

If you don't like a post, report it.

Complaining in public won't get things done any more quickly.

This is a negative thread about Freo. There have also been plenty of negative threads about West Coast that have remained open. If you think I'm not impartial in this one - or on the main board in general - then report it and let the other mods sort it out.

But first, let me make a statement in defense of my teams player...

Fair call. I am a big fan of Gaff's work in 2015, probably shouldn't have said that.

Moving on...

I don't think Fremantle have the cattle to win a flag, and haven't drafted accordingly or positioned themselves in the draft to rectify some glaring holes in the list.

That's poor, and lies at the feet of the senior coach and head of Football.

Spot on, having Jetta now as an option on a wing will improve things for us greatly.

Having Redden at the coalface feeding the ball out and providing some defensive pressure will also improve us.

Add to it the natural improvement the likes of Sheed, Duggan and Yeo can provide and i'm quite bullish about our midfield in 2016. Is it the best in the league? No, will it be improved on the 2015 model? Definitely.

You'd better hope you're not getting the end of 2015 season Jetta.

His heart wasn't in it and he just wanted to move home, his body language spoke volumes.

We won't be playing him behind the ball like Sydney either, will be playing off a wing / half-forward flank to get better use of his offensive skills.

Bloke who had checked out knowing he was leaving?

Going to be a weapon on Subi much like Bennell will be - if he can stay off the snow.

As much as freo fans are throwing stones at wce supporters...if i had a choice over what list I'd like next year...it sure as shit isnt freos

No contest really

Better make sure they don't do their usual yo-yo trick before you get too excited.

They're probably due for one of their bottom 4 finishes next year.

Weller there's a great shock ....Defacto if you're backing WC's list in - I'll get down the TAB tomorrow and check out the odds of WC not making the 8 into Freo winning the flag.

What I can't fathom is the complete and utter contempt key position players seem to held in.

There two best ever key position players were both first round picks, they have both been fantastic players - why the delay in replacing them and the lack of creativity to position the club to the point where they can invest in quality young key position players at the draft in the early rounds?

It astounds me that this hasn't been addressed in the last 3 seasons - it shows a complete lack of foresight, list management and vision.

There are murmurs Bond is being slowly pushed out, perhaps it will take more time but I have noticed Sumich has been given a new role.

Agree - that's why I prefaced it with 'hope'.

Lol, where are the Bond murmurs coming from?

2013 - round 1 & 2 were KPP's ....but sorry as you were.

Murmurs Bond is being pushed out .....I think that is just your internal monologue, try standing up and it should get clearer.
