I guess they are looking at Promoting Frost with one Caff or Scharanberg on the Long Term Injury List or IF we don’t draft anyone with Pick 75 there is a Spot for him on the List. Bit like we did last 2 seasons with Huddo

The only thing that has changed is that our 5th pick has moved from 85 to 75 (as some teams already topped up their lists with DFA etc, hence restricting them to 3 or 4 live picks.
Doesn't change our drafting strategy at all.
Hine will only pull the trigger on 75 if someone he rates highly slips through.
We can still pass on 75 & go with a senior list of 39 plus 1 nominated rookie.
This situation hasn't changed since end October.

That list on that link doesn't include rookie elevations as they won't be read out on the day of the draft.

Rookie list promotions are included among the compulsory minimum of three selections that each club must have at the draft, but the names of these players will not be formally read out at the draft.

So our pick is now pick 75. (if rookie upgrades were included then it would be Pick 85)

(if rookie upgrades were included then it would be Pick 85)
Incorrect. That list accounts for all of the spots that clubs have on their senior list, and the reason the pick improved is that ten of the spots ahead of us were for teams that would already have filled their senior lists before those picks.

Any rookie elevations that happen before pick 75 will eventually serve to "improve" our pick, because they won't be live picks ahead of us.

And how do you know we won't upgrade Frost with our last pick??

Because we can't - the paperwork for rookie upgrades had to be submitted in the first list lodgement back in October. The late round picks you see used on rookies in the national draft are just the realisation of those rookie upgrades that were included in the first list lodgement.

Logical to keep the options open for draft day. Gault was never going to be promoted in 2015 and Frost staying down gives us the flexibility we might need if a gem is available with pick 75. Otherwise we pass and hes immediatealy promoted into spot 40.

And dont listen to them Dave...it might be old news for some but a lot of us arent up with every minor detail!

Frost is good but I think the club will wait till NAB to decide before upgrading.
With brown back, the potential to play Reid in the backline, keeffe looking super fit, marsh on the mend, Cloke and white to trial down back, Darcy Moore etc we have tall options that might see frost left on the rookie list. Armstrong is a very good chance of being promoted ahead of him too, depending on what the club thinks they need. If Armstrong goes in to the season in as good form as he showed late last year he might get the nod before frost.
