hmmm, id bet u a weeks wage that rocca will be there next yr and will without a doubt be an automatic selection in round 1 - whether his form keeps him in all year is another thing but he will get first crack.
reid hasn't shown alot yet i agree, but is highly rated and has been groomed for a key fwd spot. the way anthony is going at the moment i doubt he'll be moved back, also his dimensions are identical to presty's so to say he's not a tall is silly. he is versatile can play tall or medium.
u mentioned macaffer aswell, he's not huge but plays the role of a tall - similar to rusling in the hit up mould.
thats 6 right there. only room for 3.
to start 09, rocca, cloke and JA for me. dawes can only really cement a spot when the roc goes and that may be mid next year, it may be 2010.
i reckon JA is more dangerous than 1 dimensional rusling, who i would trade with didak back to SA.
try reid at CHB as he played a lot of juniors there, just let him get kicks for a while. maccafer only if unjuries occur, but should be elevated

I dont mind if Rocca plays next season but i mean he is getting on and we need to start grooming our young players up there.

Reid has one of the worst run ups at goal i have ever seen, disgraceful. The only thing that is saving him is his age. His disposal isnt good at all, if he gets that right then he could be ok.
Reid is going to be behind 4 or 5 players up there now, has some work to do to get his spot back once fit.

reid didnt play bak alot only ever plyed there at under 16s carnival for one game...im from queensland so i saw that game...

so when u were in qld u obviously missed the games he played for the bushrangers at CHB. he alternated a fair bit. certainly wasn't a dominant fwd.
kicked a few here and there.

IF by future FF you mean over the next 3-5 years I think J. Brown.

However, Rusling would the best option IMO. Explosive, sticky hands and good kick for goal. He is the only one of our young KP forwards who has shown the ability to take marks ANYWHERE inside 50 and not just out wide on the flanks.

Rocca's days are limited IMO. I'm quite sure he is out of contract at season's end and if the rumours are true and we get J. Brown, I can't see how Rocca can go on without compromising the futures of Rus, Reid and Dawes for that 3rd tall forward spot.

JA will be a backman.

A lot of what you say is sensible, and as I said earlier in the thread, Dawes is the one that looks most likely. I was just responding to a particular statement.

As far as having one weapon goes, it's certainly handy, but it's not enough. JA is a player that seems to have very few weaknesses (other than decision-making), whilst Reid and Rusling both have lots of glaring holes in their games. They may improve their deficiencies significantly, in which case they may overtake JA, but at the moment, I would not select either, even if they were healthy. Anthony, on the other hand, is comfortably in the 22.

I think you have hit the nail on the head in that right now Anthony is deffinately in the 22, that said he probably is the safest option with the least amount of growth and upside.

Rusling and Ried both have a heap of upside and glaring holes too. That said I'd dare say the reward of having one of them come off is worth taking the risk of having one of them as a 3rd foward and moving Anthony back as we have a need for another KPB.

Secondly i said Anthony was a backman so you need to read all the post b4 flying off the handle.
Thirdly every time he runs up to goal he stutters, every single time. Wasnt a once off.
I have no doubt Mick would have said that those 3 boys r the future and they should be but all im saying is Reid hasnt shown me anything to prove he was worthy of a top 10 pick. Its just a matter of opinion and u dont have to agree with it.

where did u see reid of late??? he will be our main forward...beter than JA he is typically not a forward doesnt know where to lead most of his goals hav been crumbed or out on his own with no1 on him...no straight down the line marks..which rusling, cloke and reid have done,,,dawes also has shown he can mark on the lead more than JA ( he will be backman )
