How do Carlton fans feel about playing at Docklands? I understand the arrangement at Etihad is nearing the end.

Is there any plans to play home games at Visy/Princess Park?

Where do you see the club playing its home games post 2013?

The visy park ship has sailed sadly will never see another afl game there.

from what i hear we are aiming for a mcg etihad split but much more in favour of the mcg.

something like 4 home games a year at etihad and the rest at the g or there abouts i would think.

sadly the days of real "home grounds" are dead and burried.

Would rather we just adapt a scalable gameplan that works at our home ground, wherever that is.

It's such a shame that we wont see games at Princes Park anymore. I love the place and still regulary visit it. The AFL and Carlton missed an opportunity there.

It still hurts that we were smashed in our last official game there too.

yeh it is a shame princes park wasn;t developed, when you look at Geelong, and some of the inter state clubs the home ground advantages they have, not to mention the spiritual home factor

Alec D is correct we need people to get on board

Love the dome we just need to learn how to play there.

Fair comment.

**** i miss PP, the memories of getting the tram down as a young bloke, Standing with the old man in a sea of empty cans, the roar around the ground when a late goal was kicked in a close one.......i could go on and on......we all could..:(

Anyway, Doesn't bother me now where we play (prefer a split), as long as we're getting fair coin....we're the leagues second biggest crowd puller last 4 years, yet we have the worst financial deal at the dome......its crap.:thumbsd:

Have heard other rumors - the small turnouts at Etihad are killing them and they are looking to have a third venue for crows below 20k. (2016 and forward).

With fox and telly rights, small crowds are fine, but not at big venues which require HUGE overheads - Princes park remains the only option.

Edit:
This does not take away from the fact we will never see another Carlton h/a game there.

Would actually require Andrew Demetrispew's dead body for Visy Park to be used for AFL games (that would actually be a good thing). But in the short term if anyone wants to see a navy blue jumper playing football at Visy Park suggest they take in a few Northern Blues games.;)

Thanks for the comments.

I foresee the next evolution of equity creation for Victorian teams (after running their own VFL team like Collingwood) being a home ground advantage like that which many of the interstate teams have.

Not in the short term, however. Clubs with financial power won't want to revenue share.

Carlton is the only club really in a position to capitalise on this. But perhaps this is still a long way off.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. But How come we cant have 2-4 Home Games at Visy Park? Like its big enough and its improved? Ive been there and some seats are those old wooden ones, so I expect that to be a reason along with more money at Edihath and MCG

Some of the facilities need a major overhaul such as the toilets and catering areas and then you have to work out who pays for the upgrade. Is it the AFL or Carlton and I don't think Carlton don't have the money for it at the moment.

I absolutely LOVE watching the Northern Blues -
