What even.

2 matches for Fyfes head clash with Risca.

Are they crazy? Or just stupid.

Nathan Fyfe, Fremantle, has been charged with a Level Two Engaging in Rough Conduct Offence (225 demerit points, two-match sanction), for engaging in rough conduct against Michael Rischitelli, Gold Coast, during the third quarter of the Round Two match between Fremantle and Gold Coast, at Patersons Stadium on Saturday March 29, 2014.

In summary, due to his previous poor record, his two-match sanction must remain at two matches, even with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and medical report from the Gold Coast SUNS Football Club, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two Offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has a bad record of 50 demerit points carried over within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 275 points and a two-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 206.25 points and a two-match sanction.

Zac Dawson, Fremantle, has been charged with a Level One Tripping Offence (80 demerit points, reprimand) for tripping Brandon Matera, Gold Coast, during the second quarter of the Round Two match between Fremantle and the Gold Coast, played at Patersons Stadium on Saturday March 29, 2014.

In summary, due to his previous poor record he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Gold Coast SUNS Football Club, the incident was assessed as reckless (two points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence, drawing 80 demerit points. He has a bad record of 60 demerit points carried over within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 140 points and a one-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 105 points and a one-match sanction.

Unless they've changed the rules since, I can't see much difference between Fyfe's hit and the Lindsay Thomas hit on Ben Reid last year

Fyfe is a dirty cheating scumbag. We need to trade him, can't have guys like this in our team being undisciplined looking to hurt opponents. Disgraceful Fyfe, disgraceful.

This is such bad luck. This was a perfect chance to knock off the hawks !!! Who will take Dawson's spot against all their forwards ?? Someone who is actually match ready

For the second year in a row the rules were changed because of something Lindsay Thomas did.
First it was breaking Rohan's leg, then it was Ben Reid's jaw.

AFL players should be on watch around him.

I'm not saying he should go, I haven't seen the incident, but they did change the rules because of the Thomas/Reid incident.

Changes have also been made to the head clash rule which will state that a player bumping should reasonably foresee a head clash occurring if the bump is incorrectly applied.

Under the new rule an incident similar to the one involving North Melbourne's Lindsay Thomas and Collingwood's Ben Reid in round one this year would see Thomas charged with rough conduct.

Thomas is a blight on the game.

Would love to see footage but I'll probably have to watch AFL360. Can just imagine that snivelling weasel Gerard Whateley drooling over this tonight.

Would you be happy if Mitchell or Hodge got rubbed out due to an unavoidable head clash?

Absolutely not. I just came here because I hadn't heard of it throughout the weekend so wanted to see the reaction; whether you guys sort of expected it or if it was just out of the blue.

Obviously it's the latter.
