Gone for Parker. I don't know how Gaz pulled 119 out of that performance.

Trades greatest SC player ever out of his side to trade in a bloke knocked unconscious who played no further part in the game and is a possibility to not play next week.

Not sure if srs :drunk:

All preseason people doubted him.

He came out Round 1 and outscored Pendles, Fyfe, Jelwood, Beams, JPK, Priddis, Ward. The only two players priced 600+ who did better were Sloane and Sidebottom, which practically no-one has in their sides. Sidebottom is out for six weeks and Sloane may as well have been playing against the Bombers side in the NAB Challenge.

Now people are critising GAJ because "he didn't look right", "he got two goals late". Really? Is that the best you've got? Sloane scored 145. Does that not count because he had no opposition?

Perhaps people should stop bagging the best player to ever don the SC cape. Even if we accept your ridiculous arguments, he still outscored all your "Premo alternatives". Gary is king, even with only one arm, and I hope you all trade him out of your sides.

Wait, who's bagging him?

He didn't look right, anyone arguing otherwise is kidding themselves. And he did get 2 goals in a close game, which let him to putting on 50 points from 3 kicks and 2 goals. They're facts, not criticisms for the sake of it. I still haven't decided on whether or not i'll keep him 1 more week or trade him, but I'm leaning towards trading.

What I've read is some well-reasoned arguments as to why it may be a smart idea to trade him while he's down. The winners in previous years have all made big trades (I remember reading about one who started with a premium, traded him out and then back in, I'm sure there are many that would label this "ridiculous", in hindsight it's genius) To suggest people are "bagging him" is just completely false, show me one post where someone is bagging him. They're not "ridiculous" arguments either, they're fair arguments being made from people who watched the game and are concerned watching a champion player of our game struggling in a big way.

EDIT: Not a big point, but JPK outscored Ablett.

If I had him, I'd definitely keep him for this week at least. And unless it was a disaster I'd keep him long term because he'll inevitably come good. But those without him won't be going near him for a while yet.

They needn't play him against the Saints, keep him on ice for the Cats a week later.
Some argued he wouldn't be needed for Melbourne. How'd that work out?

exactly, they're better leaving him out ;)

He didn't svore 50 for two goals. Stop exaggerating. Please, by all means trade his ass out.

See you in the regrets thread.

Gaz, Ibbotson out
Lewis Gibson in

Unfortunately Gaz needs a few weeks for his shoulder to heal. He might keep playing all season and average 110-120. But at his price it ain't good enough. Can get Lewis in 150k cheaper to average the same and I can fix up my backline.

Could be a winning move by jumping off before the rest of the 45% does. Got a bit of the Bruyn Manoeuvre about it.

2 prems in, Hawks won't lose all year going by yesterday's game.

I'm pretty sure he only got about 20 - 25 points for those goals. No idea where people are getting 50 from.

He scored 21DT in the final quarter, and 49SC.

21DT = He kicked 2 goals on the run. 9 + 9 = 18. I'm assuming the remaining 3 points came from a general kick in play.

There are the facts. You can't tell me his score wasn't boosted by the goals, they clearly were. 50SC from 3 touches and 2 goals in a quarter isn't normal.

Im not arguing with you. The 49SC is complete BS for those two goals.

I can't believe anyone would have weighed up the risks of picking ablett at the start of the year, realised there was a chance he wasn't going to be 100% and then decided to pick him, only to trade him out straight away because he isn't 100%. Especially after scoring 119, with a worse opposition next week. I watched the whole game on Saturday, and I, like many, thought he probably was a little lucky to get to 119. But you know who didn't think he was lucky to score 119? Champion Data. The same guys that do his scores every week. If he's scoring 119s when he isn't right, I wouldn't want to be trying to find a way to use a second (and probably third to make up the money) ablett related trade to get him back in your side in a month

I was concerned watching him and was worried every time he got tackled but he still pumped out a good score. Got to just stick with him now. I reckon it's just a confidence thing with going with one hand etc, once he gets used to the bit of pain/discomfort of shoulder he will be a lot more confident going forward. Hoping he get's that confidence up with an easy kill over St Kilda but Mav Weller is a good tagger so he will have his work cut out. Good thing is the Suns will be stung after that loss, will come out on the weekend with a point to prove hopefully led by Gazza.

IMO I would be surprised if he plays this week tbh...

I guess the next question is if he doesn't get selected do u still keep him?
