That is some of the most jingoist rubbish I've heard in a long time.

Fortunately for me and my family we are sufficiently financially secure to avoid the troubles of others, but the GST affected the lower income levels far more than the higher income levels, the tax cuts (fortunately for my, and not for others) have benifited those on higher income and not lower, the access to tertiary education has been funnelled to those of higher socio economic groups than lower.

access to housing that is affordable has driven folks to the rental markets and to outlying burbs like pakenham and craigeburn, even werribee is out of reach to most.

as for corruption, one needn't go past reith, woolridge, heffernen, and other lying scumbags who have shown duplicity to the level that even the worst labour union crims of the 80s would be hard pressed to compete with.

I hope that folks see past the temporary cash promises which have proven to be lies in the past and turf Howard and his cronies onto the scrap heap of history.
