Have heard that Ablett jnr has agreed too Gold Coast offer late this week , If he has then who else can they or should they be chasing?
Personally i wanted Selwood from geelong , but hey Ablett is pretty handy .

No doubt ther will be plenty of quality kids drafted but need at least 14/18 established players!!

No there wouldn't because officially GC are only allowed to recruit unlisted players between the end of the season and the start of trade week. That doesn't mean handshake agreements won't be being made throughout the season but I doubt there'll be any song or dance about them.

I believe he will shy away from it and stay in Geelong. Even though Melbourne is the football Mecca, he can still be shaded from the limelight down in Geelong. On the Gold Coast he will be the centre of attention and withdraw from everything.

I was always under the impression he was a shy unassuming person who frayed away from the media, so why would he sign with the Gold Coast knowing he will be the marquee signing.

Don't reckon his brother and father being there will be the determining factor. Nate is just as likely to up-anchor and head off elsewhere. It'll be the gold not the coast that gets him.

When foxtel, channel 7, 9 and 10 or the radio stations from all across the country ring the Gold Coast media liaison officer and ask for someone to do an interview and they haven’t heard of 95% of the list because they are all teenagers – who are they gonna call, and no not the Ghostbusters.

The one and only G Ablett, at least ast Geelong the football club can pawn off 15 or 20 other people and limit his media attention. He will have to do a large majority of interviews for 18 months at a minimum.

I’m not bagging the Gold Coast because as an 18 year old playing football up there would be a LOT of fun and some players love the media spotlight; I’m just saying i don’t believe he will go as the media interest on him will be enormous. and he won’t like that, well from my impression.

You wonder what effect it would have if Geelong wins another flag. Big if. But, he would then be the major player in perhaps the best ever team, and would stay on for a tilt at 4 out of 5.
Nathan leaving Geelong didn't exactly upset Gary's form in the last 2 years.
Senior is nomadic, and unlikely to settle long term in the GC.
Lauren is mainly based in Melbourne, Gary in Geelong, mainly Torquay.
He doesn't crave the media attention that dogged his father.
THAT'S WHY HE'S STAYING AT GEELONG.

I know a friend of Ablett Snr's who tells me that Ablett Snr. phoned up Gary Jnr. and asked Gary Jnr. to stay at Geelong. We can speculate all we want, but there is only one definite answer to this saga so far- We don't know yet.
Having said that, heart says he'll stay, head says he'll go.

Was it Bomber Thompson who said he reckons Ablett has already made his mind up? If he already knows, it's the GC for sure. If he was staying with the Cats, he'd have announced it asap leading into the season for the massive positive hype it would generate.
