Tattoo mishap

A GEELONG Cats supporter wanting a permanent reminder of the team's AFL triumph is ruing his decision to get the tattoo done overseas, after the tattooist wrote the team were "Gay Premiers 2007".
In a celebratory trip to Thailand, last week, "Neville", the dyed-in-the-wool Cats fan had 15 cans of beer to ease the pain of the five-and-a-half-hour experience.

He paid $150 for the privilege. And to ensure the Phuket tattooist got it right, he wrote down exactly what he wanted on his right and left arms, under the headlines "right arm" and "left arm".
"I gave them a piece of paper and wrote down on the right arm, I wanted the new Geelong emblem they've got out now ... and Day Premiers 2007."

"I gave them a week to work it all out.

"And on the left arm side I wrote "left arm" and the two grandkids names and Night Premiers 2006"
The tattooist took him literally - almost.

Now he has "right arm" written on his right arm, just above "Gay Premiers 2007" because the tattooist marked in "Gay" instead of "Day".

"I couldn't believe it," Neville told 3AW radio.

"When I first walked in he showed me the picture of the thing, and I just looked at a picture and didn't really take notice of the words.

"My son-in-law walked in halfway through it ... and told me what happened, and I thought 'you're joking!" he said.

"Once they'd written right arm, I told them you might as well have left arm on the other one – and make it a bit fun."

oops, maybe those 15 cans of beer were a big mistake. :D A tattoo in a dodgy Asian Tattoo parlor is not recommended.

:D

I heard the interview on 3AW!!! Funny as.

The guy didn't seem all that pissed about it, but. Weird.

I just got back from a trip to Phuket, and I gotta tell you my biggest concern is that of the diseases he'll derive from having something from that place inserted in his body for a period of time. He could be in some trouble.

Phuket is a lovely clean place in relation to some of the villages etc I have been through in SE Asia.

Actually I know quite a few people who have got tatts up here and so long as you check out the place 1st you will find one with sterile equipment etc. If you go down the alley though you are going to end up with a blood disease from the customer before you.

I was on my way over here to post the story along with the comment that I always thought that there was something wrong with the water in Geelong, but one of you beat me to it.

So I found this thread by the young ladies on our board and thought that the Gay Premiers of 2007 might want to check out the talent :D

God forbid, I'll never be heading to SE Asia then. LOL.

Looking at it though, probably could be fixed up pretty easily. However looking at the story, looks like he doesn't really care.

Which is strange.

Exactly my point. And on the radio he acutally said "Well they tatooed, 'Right Arm', I thought I may as well match it up and let them tattoo 'left arm' as well!".

Off topic, but did anyone hear the interview with Ben Cousins lawyer on 3AW this morning??? Every question he answered, "I can't really comment on that right now". Then WHY the **** is he doing an interview???
Still, was pretty funny, afterwards Ross and John and that other Jon Anderson guy took the piss out of him.

I don't think I'll ever see those words in the one sentence ever again.

Probably an actual homosexual.

But you could just take it as 'Happy" premiers 2007!:o

I got my tattoo done at xtreme ink today and Rick was saying he will be touching up that guys tattoo for free for the publicity as the Addy will be there doing a story on it. A tattoo in Phuket, that guy deserves what he got! lol

I got two tatts, the first in Brasil when I was 16, the second in Bangkok when I was about 20. No diseases, but I did work out that you needed to check the artwork very closely before he picks up the gun when I almost ended up with a Mercedes logo instead of a peace symbol in Sao Paulo...

I didn't quite picture you as the hippie type...
