The problem is the outcome (concussion) results in the penalty, not the action. Him choosing to lay the bump would have been fine if it didn’t result in the concussion. They say if you choose to bump and you hit them in the head expect a penalty. It’s just the way it is, right or wrong. They should have challenged though cause the clash of heads was just an accident. I wonder if they both got concussed would he still have been penalised?Exactly. Glad Ablett (correctly) got off, but hope he learns now to keep his arms down. Kind of squishes the ludicrous notion there are automatic suspensions to Geelong players.
That North guy is really, really unlucky. Perfectly fair bump. Garbage that people think that it’s a suspension.
