It all depends on the ebb and flow of the market up North. For the AFL to maximise any future profit both Brisbane and Gold Coast need to remain as viable entities so the AFL can ensure that market remains as competitive as possible... Some type of concessions will be granted to Brisbane in the short term.

I lived up that way for around 6 years and the growth the area had in regards to AFL development and in particularly Victorians had the league licking their lips...this game has a lot of support up North. Aussie Rules was in the infant stages of surpassing Rugby League and that's their prime objective, so they'll get as much of a leg-up as possible.

The game isn't about the fans or the game itself anymore hence my dwindling interest.

The money hungry Greek swine that goes by the name of Andrew Demetriou was the single biggest factor in ******* this sport entirely.

Now greed and corruption are rife.

Brizzy and the Suns will be pretty competitive in 3 or 4 years
AFL is a close second with most Qlders,they are way more open minded than NSWelshmen
Our town had more kids turn out for junior AFL than they could cope with girls and boys ,the junior rugby team struggled to get a handful

Which is pretty much what I said so the league wants a competitive QLD market... It needs it.

Expansion is a slap in the face to struggling Victorian clubs and the person who said soccer will eventually become the #1 sport in this country is on the money as more and more people begin to lose interest.

I hated that Greek too and with a sentiment echoed through my Roman blood.

His handling of the ASADA thing, deliberate rule tampering to make umpiring impossible to be accountable as they make it up each game (by design to protect gambling issues) and his overall odious and toxic character damaged the game badly. He couldn't even F/O without installing his moron mate from Toorak who he has so much on before leaving. Another shit CEO whose employment was driven because he'd make no changes and most importantly allow DeGreekio to never be held account for his corruption.

It astounds me when people keep suggesting GWS will win a multitude of premierships on the basis of having multiple high draft picks.

Before this current game they'd never beaten a top 8 team away from home.
