some mathematical models (‘squiggle’ in particular, which is great - if you havent seen it check it out) assign different values to goals and behinds: squiggle goes for 4 points to a goal, and 3 points to a behind. the reasoning being that the actual difference in outcome (a matter of cms in some cases) and dominance more scoring shots suggests is not accurately reflected in a value difference of a behind being worth only 16.66% of a goal.

on that measure we smashed them. and all things considered, i think the margin flattered them.

frustrating team at times, but we couldnt even expect perfection during our ‘peak years’…

despite some pretty bad ‘low points’ this year - amplified by the emotion of supporting a team - we are not far off the top teams. a few good weeks of football, and we are still a chance. not a great one, i dont think and the odds would be against us… but the only way to have a 0% chance is to miss the finals!

bring intensity and bring application, and we will trouble teams. think on the whole a flag is beyond us, but as long as youre in it, youre in it.

but on the whole, win the flag / dont win the flag, go out week 1 or dont even make the finals, as long as everyone is giving it 100%, thats all you can ask. if it turns out we arent good enough / its not our year, as long as the coaches and players know theyve given it everything, thats all you can ask.

Scoreboard flattered Sydney....well done to our boys for not getting flustered by the failed conversions.
Kick straight with that many inside 50s and we beat most sides by 6-7 goals.

Good win, should have been by more. Our kicking at goal still leaves me nervous and our tackling was an embarrassment for 3 qtrs. The tackles stuck in the last, probably as the Swans got tired. We knew we'd bounce back, the test is to back it up next week and beyond.

Huge win, harry was a bit woeful but did some ok things as backup ruck.
Parfitt was so instrumental setting up mostly points and some goals.
Joel,Duncan and Kelly led the midfield brilliantly tonight.
Great to see plenty of run tonight.
Monster effort by our backline again, stewart and henry so impressive and tuohy, kolo and bews much better this week
Im so happy! Jack daniels has helped that.
