I do agree with this. I said at the time that I thought the Grundy recruitment was a mistake and that proved to be true. And yeah, we've been desperate for a key forward but there really hasn't been any available. If there were I think we would've gone hard for that person. There was only really Gunston available I think from memory. Chol seemed to have made up his mind that he wanted to join Gold Coast. But I wanted him. Lobb would've been handy but for some reason he wanted to join the dogs who have so many talls. I'm not sure how good he is though tbh.

Yeah that Lobb decision was a little bit like Grundy, just didn't make much sense either, especially with Darcy who's going to be a gun. You were a lot closer to winning last years flag than most people realise, this is where sometimes in life you just need to be a bit luck. Which includes Brayshaw going down as in last half of Collingwood game in which you completely dominated play and you 'desperately' needed someone like Brayshaw to lower the eyes, 'use the angles' and hit a target. You really should have never lost that game, you had players on the fat side but time and time again you refused to use them to open up the forward line..... dumb coaching is what I thought at time along with Brayshaw being unfairly knocked out is what killed you, plus recruiting Grundy.

How about when he started abusing Chris Fagan about his age? Classy. These are things you'd never see a classy coach do. It doesn't mean he isn't a good coach. Hell Al Clarkson is probably the most class-less but class isn't something that Chris Scott has.

Geelong was appalling in that finals game agaist Dees, lethargic, listless and largely uncompetitve. I don't know about you Phatboy: but if I'm a passionate Geelong supporter 'which I am' and was hugely disappointed in our effort I'd like to hear from the coach as to why that maybe the case. As it turned out with so many Geelong players being sick, that the Club requested for the AFL to postpone the game for a week which obviously they couldn't do.

PhatBoy: with Reece Stanley's recent 200 game milestone he was interviewed for 30 minutes of which that finals game was brought up and his only comment regards that game was how sick he was before that game but didn't elaborate any further as he didn't want be seen a squaring off or making excuses. That game Phatboy: is the 'only game' that the Dees have dominated Geelong in such a way and given that we went onto win the 2022 flag by winning 16 consecutive games in a row suggests that what occurred to the Geelong players on that inglorious night against the Dees indeed did have a very big bearing on how they played but also that is was important for us Geelong faithful to know why.

I said it at the time and I'll say it again.. the AFL using their Gold Coast franchise to hand Geelong pick 7 after winning the flag in 2022 was an absolute disgrace! The draft is supposed to be an equalisation measure, and this goes against its purpose!!

The whole idea of drafts and salary caps were for equalisation. However, the AFL has never been less "equal" than in any other time in history. And it will get worse each time they add another franchise and more academies to the list.

It’s more the way he says things. When journalists ask him questions a lot of the time he goes “hmm yeah but not really” or “that’s between us and the playing group we’ll let you know later”. He’s obviously right cause journos know f all but he says it in a condescending/smartass way.

Another example during the 2020 GF when Duncan I think it was kicked that goal with like 8 mins left to get you within 20 points he literally said beforehand. “If he kicks this we win”.

Like I get trying to pump yourselves up and everything but it’s a pretty arrogant thing to say imo.

Hardwick I always loved early on and during the dynasty years, but seemed to get a bit irritable towards the end, maybe person issues off field played a part with his divorce etc.

I actually haven’t listened to him much since he joined suns.

In saying all this I do have a bit of a man crush on Scotty, not sure if you are aware he also donated his entire 2020 salary back to the club to help during covid. Also not sure I have ever seen another coach during a grand final go to the opposition coaches box and congratulate them like he did in 2020?? At least I haven’t see. It occur. Think the guy is all class with his appearances and demeanor.

Bevo.. have you listened to some of his media?? He is very cringeworthy towards the press and often snaps or remarks at them if the question isn’t to his liking.

Like he walks over to the Brisbane players pretending he's king Dick. like dude, no-one is afraid of a short 50 year old guy. Let alone Mitch Robinson who would've crushed him into a fine powder. A coach needs to know his place and he didn't have the maturity to keep his emotions in check. And that's a common theme with Chris Scott.

Actually they’ve been addressed. Two of the examples you gave were literally from the same incident and it was resolved between the two parties personally the same day it happened

Another was a line from a presser that you’d hear in some form or another about 50 times a season

2021 was not a covid season. it was still a full crowd in perth and it was still full game time. So your attempts at belittling it are baseless. We finished on top of the ladder and had to win away from home at a neutral venue. amazing effort.

Ablett wasn’t even a top pick at the time.
They didn’t come good until they all put the hard work in.
If Melbourne had gotten those players, with their culture at the time, they wouldn’t have won anything.
