can someone please inform me, because i didnt follow that whole clash scenario closely.

but didnt we offer the same solution?? a simple dark v white shorts would have solved it, but still the afl insisted that different jumpers be worn??

it pisses me off how we always come off looking as the bad guy and arrogant to the rest of the world, where in reality we're just passionate about the jumper and dont easily roll over and sell out like other clubs would

If the entire Geelong team lie down on their sides it is going to be very confusing....lol.

I wonder what happened fifty years ago????
I suppose players just had better eyesight.

either that, or they weren't as bigger sooks as the players these days...;)

^its not the players complaining, right? its the afl

anyways someone tell me, what was the whole deal with our clash?? i remember that the solution of different shorts was offered and that would have solved everything. but the afl insisted on different jumpers and that's where we would not budge

but yet again we get made to look like the bad guys.

No money in clash shorts...who wears shorts to the footy besides the players.
It is the revenue from clash jumper sales the AFL are chasing.

AFL jumpers aren't like soccer shirts and by design just aren't that marketable. Soccer shirts are wearable outside the ground (debatable though), the names on the back make the shirts more unique and collectable. You wouldn't be caught dead wearing an AFL jumper on the street on any day, the lack of names on the back mean that they lose their collectability so if you buy one or two they will last you at least 5 years.

**** the "clash", sure no one team is bigger than the AFL (although in the case of our Magpies I disagree), but the clash is such a pissant little issue.

You telling me my 1979 woolen Pies jumper is not fashionable enough to wear out and about?
