Just needs to stay on the park

Yeh was pretty unlucky last year with injury. Was in good form before going down. Not sure if he was ever listed as an emergency but must have been close to a call up.

A lot to like in that final term.

If you are a forward playing Monday you'd want to perform as there are no shortage of players putting their hands up for a spot, especially in the small forward department.

Finn was excellent, looked like he was given freedom to play and just looked way stronger in the contest than others. Serong very good down back, Phillips got in his own head and found himself without thumbs in the end.

Butler, Bennetts, O'Sullivan and Dear were all really good up forward. There is a lot to be excited about with these guys.

Also, shout out to Tucker. Thought he was very average last week, looked like a different player today.

Great last quarter and even better to see Calsher kick a couple.

Just hope Seamus isn't injured. Idiot commentators didn't say anything, so I'm hopeful.
Seamus must get a call up next week.

What a fantastic finish! From the second quarter onwards, we had the better general play but were horrible with that final kick into the 50. The dam burst in the last quarter, with multiple tough and classy efforts. Shout out to the Box Hill midfielders who basically did it solo.

Maginness: BOG. Racked it up and used it well off half-back for three quarters, then went forward in the last to kick 1.2 and basically shrug off every Geelong tackle.

Butler: still has periods where he’s ‘on’ and ‘off’. But those on periods make him look an absolute class above. Kicked 4 goals and was instrumental in that last quarter.

JOS: Only played the second half and was immense. 3 goals – a fantastic run-down tackle and two where he danced around opponents and made them look silly. Really gave us a spark.

Bennetts: the unheralded of the smalls due to lack of scoreboard impact, his link play and evasiveness at ground level was fantastic. Needs polish on the finish.

Calsher: For a skinny first year player there’s a significant presence about him which bodes well. Was a quiet first half, but stayed in the game with physical efforts. Big marks in the second half. Kicked 3.2, but best of all was the 5 tackles.

Gunston: stinker first half where he was getting smashed by Geelong’s O’Sullivan. We moved him to a wing in the second half where his experience helped set us up. Looked much better as a link player than a key forward.

Reeves: thought he wasn’t great in the first half. The quality of his taps really broke Geelong in the second half and he was a big reason for our ascendancy.

Seamus: I cannot praise his defensive efforts enough. Really got on his bike to provide run in that last quarter.

Serong: Probably the player of the first half, great defensive efforts, and our prime ball user. Was scrappier than last week and faded as we gained ascendancy.

Phillips: he was solid but those dropped marks in the second half were absolute killers. Led to 2-3 Geelong goals. He does get his hands to it very often.

Stephens played the first half and was inconspicuous.

BRyan is quality rather than quantity. Tough and skilled, once he begins to win the ball more he’ll be a player.

BMac and Tucker both had good moments but were relatively quiet.

After a pretty poor first half and ten minutes into the third quarter Box Hill took control of the game and showed their true potential. It will lift their belief to know they can run out a game and win convincingly when things seems to be going against them. Fantastic last quarter running on top of the ground while Geelong wilted under their pressure.
Kudos to Littlejohn and the team.

Watching Phillips today, he would’ve got mauled had he played on Monday.
Seems like he gets inside his own head after a mistake. Not something you want on the last line of defense
Didn’t seem to play that way last year. Maybe the pressure of knowing this is likely to be his last shot at the AFL and it’s right there in front of him. Just needs to earn his selection.

Might seem an odd question, but how did Jeka look for the Cats in his new colours? Same old?

Geelong board have already turned on him for being soft.

I hope he comes on and kills it. I agree he looks like a player playing under pressure.
As a full back if he can’t handle it now, can’t imagine what he’d be like in a game like Monday playing on the big stage. No where to hide if you drop a mark on the last line.
