Ok, this is a complete long shot but if we beat geelong this weekend would you pro-tankers still want to put the season to bed and lose every other game?

You have to remember that most young lists break out seasons have been kickstarted by a late season charge the year before (St. Kilda, Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn).

I still think we are a year away from that happening but you just never know what winning confidence can do for a bunch of kids.

pro-winning here but still, beating geelong would be fantastic for our team and the club in general. what better way to show the entire footballing establishment that we are going places.

Beating Geelong this week and enstilling a winning culture in a club is more than any draft pick.

I would love to see Scully at the club but would love to see our young boys put good games together and start winning.

I will entertain this idea because you have included the word hypothetical.

Even if we won against Geelong, I would still hope that every other game was a loss. I just think Tom Scully will be very important to this club in the future, in conjunction with our other early pick, should we attain them. That will lead to us having a great spread of talent in all positions and all styles of player (e.g. inside and outside mid). I think this is required for us to truly have a crack at a premiership in the future.

To me, meaningful acquisitions in the draft is greater than meaningless wins.
