Really hope the Cats turn up, Hawthorn vs Geelong has to be the best Victorian rivalry out there. Too many classics played in the last 8 years for this one to be a let-down.

The last few games between these two have been fizzers. For me it has lost its appeal since the Kennett curse was broken.

Geelong put up a good fight in the second quarter though, so hopefully it stays close.

I dont think I have ever been as happy with a neutral game (outside finals) as I was with Essendon v Adelaide today. That was awesome stuff.

Eddie Betts with another goal of the year contender as well. That 3 tackle effort with he and Cameron in the goal square was insane!

They are dead set the worst team I have ever seen. Just horrible, putrid football.

Michael Jamison just went waaaaaaaay down in my books for turning his back on Mitch Robinson's handshake. What a sour person he must be.

Now if Carlton lose tank to the Dees we probably get pick 5 instead of 6. And maybe 4 if the Dons pull off 2 upsets (lol not likely #standbyhird).

Yes great weekend..

Bummers get absolutely flogged
Filth can't make the finals after sitting 8 -3
And Carlscum on the bottom and have to keep paying Daisy Thomas...Liam Jones

Early draft pick secured for Saints but importantly not bottom.

Ps :not sure Jake Carlisle would think of staying a bomber or becoming a blue either.

Yeah teaming up with Baby Hughie in our backline must look pretty ****ing good compared to Essendon and Carlton right now.

Bulldogs the wildcard but they might be more worried about getting Stef Martin...

Horrible to hear. What a terrible year this has been off field in the AFL world.

Thoughts and prayers to the Ratten family.

Yes terrible news - so much bad news to happen to the "AFL Family" in the last 7-8 months - awful

The AFL is planning to implement a women's league by 2017 and has floated the idea to link women's teams to AFL teams. Could the Saints establish a side?
Was just watching some of the women's game on 7. I think a national league is a great idea in general, and I mean no offence to the girls out there who are at the top of their sport nationally... but jeez it is an atrocious spectacle. Around the level of my local under 15s. If a national league is to get off the ground, surely they will need sponsors and therefore viewers? But I just can't see that happening.

That said would like to see the Saints establish the side, given we're already at the forefront of involving women in AFL, but only if it doesn't cost us a cent.

Watching it myself now, some pretty good skills by the girls & a whole lot easier on the eyes that the blokes. :p

Brett Ratten's teenage son died in a car crash last night. Very sad news:

Unfortunately something like this has been on the cards for a while now. Cooper had some real problems. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt and the driver is unlicensed and was speeding. Car they were in stolen too. RIP Cooper.

I disagree Tassie! I think the skill speed and tenacity the girls sre showing is incredible and the sport has a real future! Well done ladies ....
