I was concerned about you Wowlace after your sign off last week.

Yeah um, sorry about that keyboard bashing. **** I was mad. Probably the most upset I have ever been after a loss. I don't want to think or talk about that game ever again. I've chilled down a bit in the last few days. As long as 186 doesn't reoccur this Sunday we should be ok. o_O

Different players though. If your in the side because of 'skills' i dont want to see panic clangers.

Jones' disposal now isnt a whole heap better now than the early days, still makes some shockers. He has become an elite contested ball winning beast, one of the leagues best. Don't think Toump will ever be that.

Anyway, whatevs, like I said, just cut out the howlers and I'll be happy.

Have to disagree, Jones's disposal is definitely better than it was early days. He is well capable of drilling a 35-40m bullet pass. But it's his decision making, along with the contested ball, that has elevated Jones. And that decision making and quick thinking developed over I'm gonna guess his 5th, 6th and 7th seasons? That's what jimmy needs to improve - and will imo - because he isn't going to be a contested ball machine, as you say.

There was something about that loss, I still haven't gotten over it, over and above all else it is Roos's lack of interest, he showed it against Collingwood by blaming players not listening, and again against St Kilda around dying minutes. A coach who gave a toss would have done something, ANYTHING, to ensure we held on. It feels as though he and D Jackson, as AFL ring ins, might be Demetriou's Mark 2 (Mk 1 was Paul Gardiner) and we are just rusted on fools. Like the proverbial frog in the pot of warming water, but the proverb never mentions how pissed off the frog was, before he succumbed.

Let me clarify -- you're saying it got down to the last minute and Roos thought - 'You know, I don't give a stuff if we win, let's just see what happens at this last bounce, c'est la vie'.

If you are, I will have to strongly disagree.

Indeed.

You mean like scream into the phone to get players to "go f***ing back" like he did?

There's something off about you

Yeah is it me or has everyone completely missed the shot of Roos screaming GET BACK!

The media got on his back and there are a few here who had a go at him, other than trying to get out of the box and run down to the ground in 40 seconds I cant really see what else he could have done.

Slow motion dive through the coaches box window with a double flip as he lands on the edge of the steps and proceeds to roll down the steps and crash through the gate at the boundary. However during this, play has been restarted and the Saints kicked 5 unanswered goals in those 40 seconds.

I think it was the insipid, lackadaisical way he was screaming that convinced me he didn't care.

Hey we should lay of Roos, if it wasn't a saints game he would have got the crowd to pass the message along like Chinese whispers, but those damn saints supporters would tampered with it.

"There is 41 seconds left... Purple monkey dishwasher"

How long does it take a coach to get a message to his players? That aside it's important to keep your sense of humor, I've seen plenty of "off" stuff on these forums, but you just have to laugh.

How's that Roos' fault? He was shown on the screen and clear as day screaming for the players to get back, there was nothing else he could do.

So with carltons Mini revival and the lions getting players back from injury, combined with us losing a bunch of players... If we don't sneak a couple soon we could end up in the bottom 2-3 again

They won one game that the umpires gifted them, it's hardly a revival.

It's more than that. They've been a different outfit under Barker. The effort has been there each game since he took over.

True.

The shackles have been lifted.

Barker has clearly told them he won't chastise errors, so long as effort and intensity is there - and it working.
