Could potentially do something like that with the out of office feature thing which people use when they're away on holiday to send an automatic response.

Have an Outlook problem. User wants this for all incoming emails:
- automatic reply using original subject (can include RE: or FW: etc)
- attach incoming email to automatic reply
- reply with a message or template

Thus the sender would receive a reply
- Subject: Re: 2013_Report
- Attached: 2013_Report (30 KB)
- Body: This acknowledges that we have received your message yada yada yada

Outlook has a "Rules and Alerts" function under the Tools menu, it should be pretty straight forward to knock up an auto-response, just make sure it applies it as a server side rule or else it will only work when the user has Outlook open.

Something like the following should work:
Apply this rule after the message arrives
sent only to me
have server reply using a specific message

Going to tell the user there is no need to reply with original email attached. A reply with the same subject and a template message will suffice.

Hi,
I have a HP Spectre and at the moment cannot turn my computer on. It keeps coming up with:

BOOTMGR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

Any help in fixing this would be much appreciated.

akkaps
The bootmanager is what is run after the computer does it's POST (Power on self test). The bootmanager is what tells the computer "hey now that you're started up you need to boot into windows" (or another operating system). Right now, that can not be found.

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/bootmgr-is-missing.htm

for more info google "missing bootmanager" - there is shit tons on it.

The good news is it's almost always fixable. And by almost, I've never seen it not fixable, but I'm sure someone out there in the wild has not been able to fix it.

The bad news is for a non technical person this could be a serious pain in the ass. Even for a technical person it can still be time consuming.

Have recently installed the Windows 8.1 update - am now getting this weird graphics glitch where all games now look like a 3D movie without the glasses (i.e. reddish/blueish double image) - anyone have any idea what's gone wrong?

I think it's a nvidia graphics option.

*I use windows 7 but hopefully it's the same/in a similar area*

If you right click desktop > open nvidia control panel > on the left go down to Stereoscopic 3D > untick the Enable stereoscopic 3D if that's ticked.

I think that's the 3D you want to turn off, if not, just have a look around in there somewhere as it should be there somewhere.

Bought a creative touch zen during the week. Arrived Friday. Looks a pretty good music player. The only thing I can't work out is there a way to disable the external loudspeaker? I don't want it to accidentally play if I am out or something. If I want to use the external player for something I would rather explicitly enable it myself.

Considering it's an Android device, loudspeaker and headphone volumes are usually independent. Play something through the speaker, turn the volume down to zero, then see if that volume level carries over when you plug in headphones.

Anyone with a MBA/P? Want to stream to my TV. This is what I think I know.

If I had an Apple TV, I could stream using Airplay/wifi. Not sure if that is the screen or just iTunes content.

Or I get a HDMI to HDMI cable without an Apple TV?

I'm posting this from my iphobe.

On my regular laptop I can't access most websites. I can access google, YouTube and a few others. I can access afl.com.au but I can't access Wikipedia, bigfooty, or probably 80% of websites. Why?

Yesterday everything was fine, then all of a sudden I couldn't access the majority of the web. I haven't touched any of the settings. When I type in the bigfooty address in the browser, it just takes me to www.bing.com (a search site) with a list of bigfooty links. If I click on one of those links I just get the standard "this page can't be displayed". Most other sites I just get the "can't be displayed"

Why can I access some sites and not others, and what could have happened to make this happen.

And how do I fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried other internet browsers to see if it's just that browser or the computer/tried another computer if you've got one to see if those sites load on that? There could be an issue with your exchange which is why you're unable to access some sites.

I'm on my iPhone now (the only other internet access I have) and all the sites work. It's just on the laptop that I can't access most of the web. And it just happened yesterday around 2pm. Any idea what I can do?

Is your mobile phone on the home wifi? If so then it's something to do with the computer and most likely the browser in which case clearing the cache should fix that.

Could you take some screenshots and post them here?

Sounds like your address bar is acting like a search bar, so it is searching for whatever you enter rather than just going to the address. I assume when you click on one of the search results it then goes to the website fine.

yep, sounds like malware or adware of some description has been installed.

I don't think it's maleware as he says if he clicks on one of the links after being redirected to bing after searching bigfooty they still do not load.

There are a number of things he can test to help identify the problem.

- Test a different internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer etc)

Does it work in any of them or do they have the same issue? If it works on one of the others ones rather then the main one you usually use, then you know it's a browser related problem. You could try clear the cache of your current one or uninstall/reinstall it as it may have some sort of maleware (although I don't think that's the issue).

- Try loading a site via a proxy.

If it doesn't work in any of the browsers than I'd suggest it isn't a problem on your computer and more the exchange. You could try 'test' this in a way by trying to load a site that isn't working such as bigfooty via a proxy (assuming you can load one of those proxy sites). For example - http://hidemyass.com/ and type www.bigfooty.com into it. Does it load?

If it works on your desktop via a proxy and not with different internet browsers then I'd suggest it's something on your internet providers end which you could call and ask them about.

- Try another device such as your phone using your home network.

Testing another device such as your phone on WIFI (not on its own internet) is another good test. Basically requires you to answer some of the above questions before you can narrow down what the potential issue is.

I had a similar problem the other week with Firefox (although I was getting a different message). Took forever to find the solution, but it ended up being the time on my PC had been reset (I installed a new graphics card, and then when I flashed my BIOS, it reset the PC clock). I don't know why it affected the browser at all, but maybe just check the time on your laptop is correct.

Everyone seen how Youtube has removed usernames from your sub feed? Better be a bug otherwise they're ****ing idiots.

Not sure if right place to ask. Just looking in to an iPad game my son plays, Real Steel, and found a site called Ultimate Free Cheats that has a download (.exe file - scared!) which gives unlimited in game money etc. My paranoid nature makes me very dubious to any downloading of .exe files, so wonder if anyone has any knowledge of this mob and if dowloading to an iPad is asking for trouble?

Personally..... I wouldn't touch that file. I also can't see how a PC executable would work on an iPad game.
