So Casey Dellaqua wont play on Margaret Court arena if she is scheduled there due to Court's disapproval of Gay Marriage etc? (probably not a big deal as I doubt she will play there anyway, out 1st round as usual)

So why does she play in Australia at all when gay marriage isn't legal in Australia? Does she play tournaments in Dubai and places like that?

Considering she is a fine doubles player and there is every chance that her and Barty would make it through to the later rounds of doubles, it's possible she would be scheduled on MCA.

I think this is just the final straw for Dellacqua regarding Smith. Smith has been a strong and vocal in her disproval of gay issues for a long time. Considering the support that Dellacqua is receiving from fellow players show where the support lies.

Dellacqua only plays doubles now and is a successful doubles player at that.

Not sure what you're asking in your second line - Why do heterosexuals play in countries that have legalised gay marriage?

They are professional athletes who are getting paid very well to play tennis. Any tennis player who is scheduled to play on Margaret Court Arena at next year's AO and doesn't show up should be treated as having forfeited the match.

I hear you but you have to be careful putting words in people's mouths.

Stosur hinted that tennis stars may try to boycott Margaret Court Arena at next year's Australian Open. And then clarified later that “I’ve never said I was going to boycott or anything like that."

Dellacqua (whom Court attacked in The West Australian in 2013) refused to call for a boycott of one of the Margaret Court Arena. “I personally feel when I’m playing in Melbourne that I have a huge amount of support from the fans,” she said. “So whatever court I do play on, I know that I’ll be well supported. The Australian Open is a long time away ... but yeah, I just prefer probably not to go into any of that.”

Andy Murray (as a member of the ATP Player Council) said he feared tennis players trying to boycott Margaret Court Arena at the Australian Open would cause scheduling chaos and wanted the issue brought to a head sooner rather than later.

Every other Aussie player commenting on this, their dialogue has been generally been about supporting Dellacqua and disagreeing with Court's views, not about boycotting.

In a tournament that has had controversy lurking like a cloud, the outspoken Australian Pat Cash entered the fray with a few harsh words for Murray’s coach, Ivan Lendl. “He is by far the most annoying person in the locker room that I have ever met in my life,” Cash said on Eurosport.

The former Wimbledon champion added: “And I’m not joking. First of all he’s got really bad jokes, they’re just horrendous, and he’s really loud. Certainly during my career he was always the loudest, he was like the king of the jungle.

“There was always a bit of chest-thumping going on amongst various players, and certain players liked that. Ivan was just one of those guys. He was always making fun of somebody or picking on you and that was his way of putting you down – you probably wouldn’t be surprised to hear that I gave a lot back as well.

“But he is the complete opposite [to what you see on TV]. I’ve been down in the locker room today a fair bit and Ivan was doing the same thing, telling jokes. It’s kind of cool because it keeps it very light and he’s not quite as loud as he used to be.

“It keeps it light and the players can relax and of course Andy’s got a full team there. Mark Bender [his physio] is there and he’s very easygoing. You need people like that. But, when it comes down to business, they get on with it. They don’t mess around. They’re a very professional team.”

I haven't read Pat Cash's autobiography but I can imagine there being an entire chapter or 3 dedicated to his dislike of Lendl.

Actually it was both Kokkinakis and Kyrgios that were dubbed the Special Ks (plural). I just didn't think Thanasi's old man would go ahead and trademark it for his son tho.

The thing is Ricardo Piatti is still his full time coach (since start of 2014). These other guys that have been hired (Moya, McEnroe and Kraijek) have just been consultants. Milos treats it as a business. He said it himself last year.

"I'm the CEO of the Milos Raonic Tennis,” he said. “That's it ... It is my job personally, [for] everything I hear, to weigh what it's worth and weigh what is best for me ... I take everybody's consultations very personally. I know everybody I have around me wants to help me to the fullest ... I'm going to try to do everything I can to sort of maximize giving myself the opportunity to achieve my goals."

He's been vocal ever since Novak's loss to Istomin in the AO. I don't think he's doing it to be nasty to Novak. He's just being honest and he really wants Novak to get out of this rut.

I think Agassi is more of a smoke and mirror than a security blanket. I think Novak and Murray (who said he wanted to hire Agassi in 2014) are seduced by Agassi's aura than anything else. Novak may as well play without any form of coaching assistance until he can secure a full time coach to replace recently sacked Marian Vajda (2006-May 2017) and a full time consultant to replace Becker (2014-2016).

Agreed, Agassi is about smoke and mirrors I wouldn't consider him as a serious full time coach besides he is probably more focused on his own personal business projects.


Becker and Novak worked well together but who knows what's going on with Novak at the moment. A few days ago, Courier was critical of Novak's decision to work with Pepe.

Hopefully, Goffin will be fine to play again in Wimbledon.

On Monday David Goffin underwent further exams for knowing more about his right ankle, that he got injured on Friday against Horacio Zeballos at the Roland Garros. The last news are reassuring. 'David will need to rest for two weeks, so we are hopeful that he can come back in Wimbledon', the World No.

12's attorney said. 'On Thursday David will have other exams that will allow us to know more and to maybe confirm the come back's date.' It seems that Goffin won't likely play the ATP 250 's-Hertogenbosch, first grass-court event that takes place next week.

He is also committed to play ATP 500 Queen's, but he may skip it as well in order to compete again in Wimbledon that is played from 3 to 16 July. 'Hello guys, I just wanted to give you some news about my ankle', Goffin wrote on his official Facebook page. 'The last tests revealed a muscle tear.
