Does anyone else see the undercurrent happening at punt rd where an unwritten policy is sytematically appointing only the staunchest and purest of the yellow & black faith into positions of power. Steve Wright, Tony Free, Craig Cameron, Wayne Campbell and now we hear one of our fav sons is about to return and more to come. As a fundamentalist Tiger, I like it, pedigree and talent WILL restore the ROAR.(nothing else has worked:rolleyes:) God help anyone down there that wasn' t born a tiger:eek:

That's fine by me Bo, and as you pointed out - as long as it's talent.

The players pre-season may not be commencing for a more few weeks, but our admin's pre-season appears to be well under way. :thumbsu:

Thank god Wallace had a stint with us in the 80s?

hmmm, well I hope for his sake he's had an exorcism to rid himself of anything but the 10 weeks he spent at Tigerland coz there's a bloke just rocked up that used to wear the No 9 that has FUTURE COACH written all over him:rolleyes:

that is right on the money

H-E-L-P-!

Next we'll have the Kellaways as kicking coaches
Do you see the flaws in this logic?
Probably not.
We should only get the best people and just hope they're Tiger supporters.

Frankly, I'm more than just a trifle surprised that there hasn't been a pack of titillated hyenas in this forum salivating at the prospect that Kevin will replace the tanned one!

Well just ask the question after round 22 2009.

Bout F****n time too!

Hate mercenary people who have made a name for themselves elsewhere and come to Punt Rd for the $.

There will always be something to be said for that little bit of extra passion that someone who has spent time at the RFC has for the place, as long (as has been said before) they have the talent too.

I can really see Freeza becoming a new age Greame Richmond.

im just reading the lay of the land RAD..I have nothing against TW I hope he delivers , I desperately want to see us make finals in 2009:thumbsu:..cambo is an interesting one though, Id almost forgotten about him, but the more I think about it , the more i could see him getting a gig...he has an edge to him, smart cookie and a bit out there..ALL ticks so far in the good coaches handbook...and you guessed it, was a tiger through and through right back to his footy clinic days in Bendigo...he's the man i9n line with Prez March purist policy

provided they have ability it's a powereful mix , we have a great CEO in steve wright and he is a tiger like all of us...Im impressed with what I've heard and now seen from CC...he was was bought up a tiger with his ol man Barry Cameron spilling blood in the yellow and black...we would be fool to be blinded by this HOWEVER we're rebuilding this club piece by ****en piece and without the resource of much wealthier clubs it's the passion and commitment that will fuel the momentum that will catapult us over that ruck of pissants once and for all

so the last piece of the puzzle that still needs to be put in place is to get

N.BALME BACK TO TIGERLAND

I read that he was the original target, wasnt Pelchen as reported, was Balmey..unfortunatley we have never got the timing right with NB...we should have tried harder when he wanted out at collingwood alas, he was too much like Miller without getting so involved in recruiting

The quotation marks suggest I'm probably missing something, but the title of this thread seems a little confused.

Totally agree with the sentiment though.

Did I ever mention that GR's youngest daughter was my kid's grade two teacher a couple of years back. Very sweet. Veeeeeerrrryyy sweeeeet.

Then why did Wallace sya directly after Campbell's retirement that he thought he could become a great coach and wanted him as an Assistant, but thought he should seek experience elsewhere?

You're reading too much into it IMO.

a sequence of events sante, not one Im referring to...Id go as far as saying CC would never have got the job at Punt rd as even the list mgr had he not a RFC connection...nothing against his background at all, just it seemingly catapulted him out of nowhere:rolleyes:

So how is that any different from having Hafey as a Premiership coach, Ian Wilson as a Premiership Captain, and the one of the greatest and staunchest lovers of the club Graeme Richmond steering the ship? Same deal.

We've already tried the likes of Jeans, Walls, Frawley and Geishen.

We've tried both approaches.
We've also had dud past players coach and people from other clubs.

Take an aspirin and lie down Bowy.
Whoever gets us the next flag, outsiders or those within, will become immortals anyway.

Don't lose sleep, it's all a cycle.

You've gotta have a mixed approach when building your football club. Hawks went with a very Hawthorn football department for years, going from Peter Knights to Ken Judge to Peter Schwab as coach, which led the club through its worst run since the 61 flag. In came Clarko, Viney and Hardwick and turned us around. You want enough club people there that there is a true passion for the club, but also enough outsiders that sentiment doesn't overide the decision making process. Despite him being a drop kick of a footballer, the most important person in Richmond's football department going forward is Jade Rawlings.
The Tigs list is just getting to a good point now, just have to make sure you don't waste it.
