Yeah but be careful not to moan about things being done differently. Berlin also has a cricket club or two if you are interested as wll :)

I'm going to be in Berlin for a few weeks this winter / their summer. Might get down and watch a game if one's on. Nothing like experiencing your own culture in another place.
@.Shotties. I just signed up for the Berlin Crocs.

Flick me a message!

How did you choose Berlin anyway? Not the most pretty city in the world. Hamburg is way better.

It felt like home from when I first set foot there, I guess. I loved just walking around everywhere and i got the feeling I could never really explore it all. I'm not sure really. I can't give a rational explanation for an irrational feeling. Hamburg darf besser sein, aber ich nimmer violet tragen konnten! :p

ahahaha. it is dark violet . at least although I agree- but if you go to the praticse only :p.
hm Berlin is very flat- has a faulty s-bahn(seriously they had lots of problems with it because of faulty wheels etc) and they only have this little ccreek instead of a big river. and it is way to far to go to the coast. and it looks the same pretty much everywhere.

You can surf in the north sea where they have the windsurfing championship which isnt far from Hamburg(and there are places you can surf(with a kind of lift- not directly in HH though) - and Hamburg public transport is more efficient , even the ferries that cross the river count (means you can go into town by bus or train and go out again by ferry :D) and it has better music and lots of green.

Kann man in Hamburg surfen?
#

Well, S-Bahn is not much better in Hamburg. Berlin had these real big problems, but apart from them it isn't much different...

Oh If the Public Transport get late you can get your money back because they have a money back guarantee now-
By the way a city you can surf in is Munich , on the River Isar it has close to the 'english garden'(a park) a bit of a Wave where people surf on  . Lots of people can be found in their little sailing boats on the Alster though( you can rent boats too if you havent got one yourself)

I think it is only half the price of a ticket wenn you are more then half an hour late. That 1,15€ for normal distances. It's not worse the effort going somewhere to request it...

Here they give you back the whole ticket price. Which is nice if you pay for a day ticket. (I am on a student ticket anyway which is about 200€ for the entire term for the entire region (about 50km radius ) of the public transport system.

Incorrect on so many points. Yes, Berlin is flat. Makes it easier to ride around. S-Bahn problems are no worse than Melbourne. In fact, S-Bahn is better than Metro. Yes, its like 3 hours to the sea, but Brandenberg (area surrounding Berlin) has the most gorgeous lakes in the country.

And you obviously have never really walked around berlin... it all looks the same? wtf? Do you even know anything about the wall, the architecture and the design of the city layout?

you mean the few little bits they left- and yeah the east still looks shabby as hell and is cheaper than the west but I wouldnt you can get me down one road down in Tegel, and another in Reinickendorf or in kreuzberg and it is every where the same boring wide streets with ugly facades. I don't know about australian public transport systems(I have never been there you know)The only southern hemispherian I know are cape towns and Johannesburg .
Yes I have been in Berlin often enough (unfortunately I was born there) and it is a crap place. While I havent been down the Müritz and the general mecklenburg Seenplatte(a small pretty one in Schleswig - Holstein too) I have been down the spreewald which is nice(part from where people are getting evicted from their villages for coal mining.)

Also Berlin won't ever to be able to beat Hamburg because Hamburg has the Alster(apart from having the Elbe which is actually clean enough to swim in it and has beaches in the suburbs). and it also has a lot more green areas(parks) in the city and the Busses are better too.

I played in the Berlin Local league last year. One of the guys at the hostel I was staying at (Ben) asked if I wanted to come out and play. I played for the Eagles (forget which team it was). Was a good night and some cracking lads there.

Landed in Berlin to a massive thunderstorm. Saw the game had still gone ahead. Berlin needs a high quality, short, annoying small forward badly, from the looks of it.
You watched the game on Saturday? I played... and we could do with any sort of small forward to be honest.

Nah, I didn't. Shit day so surrendered the day to my girlfriend's desire to rummage through vintage shops. Leaving tomorrow. I can't think of anyone more upset to be travelling to the South of France than me right now.
