c'mon seriously is there any need too look to much into the loss?

after what 15 straight wins it was long overdue
next week we regain AA defenders! shaw, maxwell and davis which puts our structure back into place perfectly

we lost in the last round last year and look what happened
regardless of it being a belting no point injuring ourself.

we are the team too beat at the whole competition is aware of that.

dont look too far into it we are quite fine with the loss as a matter of fact we are better off with it then in 3-4 weeks times

c'mon pies!

I am really worried. The cats looked awesome and we looked absolutely shit house and it looks like injuries have come at the wrong time. I know its just one game but gees we better pull our finger out against West Coast otherwise its bye bye grand final appearance. I also have a feeling that the Mick Malthouse saga has had a negative impact on the players and has been a major distraction.

Anyway that my 2 cents worth and yes I am a bit of a worry wart ;)

If our performance against West Coast is unimpressive, only then will I start to worry. Until then, I'm treating Friday night as an irrelevance.

Antz, the thing to remember i reckon is that there's a very fine line sometimes between a big win and a big loss.

Look at two evenly matched tennis players...sometimes two consecutive sets can be 6-0, 0-6.

It just gets down to intensity by and large. Bit of momentum as well, bit of luck here and there...but mainly intensity at the contest.

And we played with none. They played with lots.

That will be different next time.

We looked poor v Adelaide, v hawthorn And then very sluggish until after half time v the dogs in the qf

We don't have to be running on all cylinders until the prelim weekend, have some faith in your club ffs

This is how worried I was. I was openly laughing as my work mates were cheering for the 100 point margain.

So was my dad. He was worried in the first half and then after that he was laughing. He's like this is a joke.Since when does swannie play up forward and since when do we go up the middle.

Meanwhile we had a very poor backline on friday night(the worst in ages). But next week will be a different story. :D:thumbsu::thumbsu:

i think the margin is irrelevant
they were 50?? up at half time and out to 96
I watched 3 pies players including pendles stand in the geelong goal square in the last 1/4 and watch chapman pick the ball up and kick a goal
werent even interested in knocking it through as it meant a chance to get tackled/knocked
allen christensen run straight past jolly in the 2nd 1/4 and jolly watched him and he kicked a goal
major self preservation
until 5pm saturday, im not looking too much into it

no offence but he has kicked 30+ goals this year
more accurately, when does swannie play full back?

MM is a genius...we know exactly what the cats have got but what do they know about us...Jack Sh...t....was hilarious watching the geelong players fist punching ...almost beside themsrlves, thinking they were just sh...t hot, as if they had won the frggin premiership,,,ha ha...
brimg on Saturday...go you magnificent pies

Once the game finished you could see on the players faces they couldnt give a crap, they were joking around with Geelong players. Mick Malthouse was more clam then I have ever seen him. If we lose to the eagles then thats when I will actually worry a bit, even if we do, I think we will go all the way.

Memo to Media and Negative Pies supporters

Cannot believe the crap written in the media about Friday nights loss nor the negative comments made by Pies supporters.

Why do you think Eddie made that statement during the week ? He knew exactly what the Pies had planned and was basically telling the supporters the media would be all over the Pies and it was time for supporters to stick side by side because the REAL fun starts now.

So I hope everyone has had time to reflect on a great season (back to back top spots) and look forward to one he'll of a ride in the next 4 weeks !!

To every Collingwood hater, BRING IT ON !
You only make us stronger !

GO PIES !!:D:D:D

Re: Memo to Media and Negative Pies supporters

Mick's laughing and joking after the game...Swanny says the only disappointing thing is it wasn't 100 points...Ball says cue was put in the rack after half time...I saw many occasions where Pendles and Swan did not contest marks, they just walked up and stood on the mark...our injuries are basically bruises...and what does the media focus on- the negativity. I could not get one person, including Geelong supporters to give me better than 1.95 for us for the flag...lol...I reminded them all how bad we are according to the rest of the world BUT we are still odds on favorites. The same media will sell so many papers and have huge ratings because of our October victory this year. The media have been desperate to create challengers for us this year...after next week they will forget about us and be talking about why Ratten should be sacked as coach after another finals loss lol

Re: Memo to Media and Negative Pies supporters

I just think its a dangerous attitude to have by the players not to take it serious, and fairly arrogant by supporters to say "doesnt matter, we will turn it on in the prelim". I didnt go to the G friday to see that rubbish. Disgraceful.

There seems to be a lot of complacency and outright arrogance on this board.

I have no doubt that we took the game a little easy and the result would not have been anything like it was had of our intensity been 100%. I am not suggesting we would have won, however the game would have been much closer.

Allowing Geelong to destroy us like they did and in every facet of the game mind you, will only fuel their confidence. It doesn't matter that on our day we can beat them, as now they have incredible belief regardless.

Assuming we did take the piss, it shows some real disrespect to a quality side like Geelong. If it was Carlton, I could understand. Make no mistake that Friday nights result has only benefited Geelong.

Despite all of the above, we are the team to beat and it will take a mighty effort to knock us off.

Speaking as someone who's seen their own supporters do that in recent times, I think it was simply one side was a little bit on and one a little bit off. Doesn't alter a great deal. We've got a tough enough challenge getting past Hawthorn on Friday night (in my view the winner plays in the Grand Final against you guys, too tough to make it otherwise) to even think about what happens next. You get quality players back and they won't play that bad again.

Not ideal preparation, but only if it affects how they play against West Coast. Which I doubt.

Good luck for the finals.

Geelong are one of the biggest for fist pumping moments. Blokes like Mooney and Chappy are competitive beasts who would belt their mothers to win a game of scrabble. What I do know is that they would be professional enough to not get too cocky over that win. They'll leave that to their tosser coach. Is it me or are both Scott brothers prime A grade w***ers?

x1

Also, you can only admire what Chris has done with Geelong.

Nearly everyone had them down the ladder this year, some judges had them out of the eight.

Like them a lot as coaches.

You wouldn't get a better bloke than Brad I reckon ( mainly based on how the Collingwood boys liked him and his appearances all year on Fox, the Insiders i think it's called.)

Seriously guys, Mick MAlthouse is TROLLING you all.

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE with functioning eyes, that is even remotely aware of how he has coached, and how Collingwood have played for the last few years would know we tanked the shit out of that match.

Do I have to post it all again: ok I will.

- Sinclair loose man in defence
- Toovey loose man in defence
- Leigh Brown full back BEFORE Tarrant went off
- Collingwood constantly trying to go through the middle
- Pendlebury going off for TEN minute spells (lol)
- Malthouse allowing 2 loose Geelong defenders in Collingwood forward line

I mean COME ON!!!!

On the night, I actually said at half time that it looked like Collingwood saw they were up at quarter time after playing like shit and said: "Uhhh guys, we're up after Mick told us to make sure we don't hurt ourselves, what do we do?"

So they basically just started trying out training drills from during the week.

Seriously, I'm the biggest pessimist on here and even I was laughing at how obvious they were being on Friday.

Yep. 100% agree with all of this. Nothing but a big fat troll on Friday night by MM. Was actually quite funnny. Best moment was Swanny on Hawkins :)
