GF tix barcode

Just wondering, I'm a member with the GF upgrade. So everything should be good in terms of me getting a ticket. But I'm still after a second barcode/ticket, so I'm allowed back in the house after the match. In order to sit together, would I need to be calling in favours before registration on Thursday? So as to register the barcodes 'together'. Or is the actual process of getting seats done later on once the ballot is complete?

It's all so confusing. At least we'll all know the process for 2014 though, and the year after that... :p

How does the barcode work if someone is willing to give theirs up? please explain.

I too would like to find someone whom cannot go but has access to tickets through the ballot.

If anyone is willing to help out it would be appreciated. Willing to negotiate, but need to secure 2 tix to the Big Day.

TIA.

With all due respect, you might want to give a bit of background on yourself first so people know you're not a scalper. Looks pretty suss when someone registers and their first post is about wanting tickets/barcodes...

If you want to be seated together, you have to register for them in the same transaction.

Also, from what I gather, the second barcode you get has to have the grand final upgrade on it too. It seems if one is the GF upgrade and one is only a standard member and you ask to be seated together, then you'll both go into the 2nd priority ballot.

Fair call.

Firstly, I live in Busselton and do not have a membership, however I am an avid Freo support that has been the brunt of many supposed jokes for the past 19 years.

I am not a scalper, I am however a mad Freo supporter looking for a way to guarantee a couple of tix for myself and brother in law. That is if a member is willing to help out if they are not going to be able to make it over to Melbourne for what ever reasons.

I can guarantee I am genuine and want to make my voice heard when we make it to the big day.

see this is my whole issue. Why should genuine members who go week in week out, fly across the country to places like Adelaide (god that was shit) and Avalon (awesome result) and other finals, then completely miss out when it's finally GF time because someone else is luckier in the ballot than them (who is not a member)? we are a one income family, so not rolling in it, but have also made sacrifices to follow our team.

There's suddenly an influx of people getting on the bandwagon when we finally have success, who have no memory of sitting in the shit weather at Subi to watch us get flogged by Melbourne, or that horrific semi final at AAMI.

Sorry, after the thousands we have paid in the past 19 yrs for the opportunity to see us in September, if you get a ticket and I don't I am hardly going to say "well done!"

Anyway, one week at a time - we have to win the Prelims yet

With respect, crying poor while having Salter Point as your location doesn't quite gel. ;) Not jealous or anything !

Freo Girl -You are correct in what you are saying however sometime circumstances of where people live eg. where I have been living the past 10 years (Broome, Fitzroy Crossing, Alice Springs) it is not feasible for us to be members.

All I am asking is if anyone is not able to attend from our 30K plus members of which 15K ticket allocation to the GF is there, then maybe just maybe I could have the chance.

I am sure you will get your tix along with most every Dockers member that wants to go.

Please support....

if there were just a few of you it would be fine...but there's hundreds of you!

it seems that those who have forked out for membership for years can't afford to go and those who didn't, have been able to save to go ;)

and this is just Tuesday! :)

There will be thousands...... But I can tell you that the allocation will be used for all Freo members and then any left will be handed back to the AFL..... Don't you want to see as many Freo supporters as possible on the big day????

As for those you say cannot afford to go, maybe those have other commitments that weekend???? Don't just portray that Freo Members are broke..... You of all in Salter Point should not be putting that excuse out there.

Please just a little help!!!!!;)

of course, but I want to see the ones who have endured the ups and downs of the last 19 yrs there first. Not ones who join a site like this as soon as we start looking good and then come cap in hand.

perhaps get to know people on this board first before attacking them?

I think I have made my point and will wait and see what happens.

My commitment albeit without a membership cannot be questioned. I along with 4 friends travelled by car to Melbourne and back 3 years ago for our elimination clash with the Cats due to the price of flights. It was our only appearance at the G that year and even though we got spanked we reporesented our club with vigour.

I will be there at the G this year no matter what.

Please help me with 2 barcodes to make it happen. If you cannot make it, I will shout the G down in support for the Fremantle Football Club for us.

My apologies Freo Girl if I have offended yourself or anyone on this blog.

I am not out to attack anyone, this is not my motive.

My motive is quite clear.

GO FREO!:)

As I am one of those elitist types who is going to the GF with a fancy pants package I will register two barcodes for the GF on Thursday and make them available to someone after I have fought the good fight to get PF tickets next Monday.
I won't be chasing any money but as with my QF tickets which I had to give up, I would love it if someone made a donation to my Ride to Conquer Cancer fund. There are a number of posters here who already donated and they would be first in line if they want to drop me a PM.

Would be happy to donate to your cause mate. I am also doing the ride! I bleed purple through and through but I can't get to all the games due to work/sport and thus being a member for me isn't worth it but if I can get to a game, I end up going. Would be stoked to be offered your ticket!

There will be 14,000 GF tickets allocated to Freo if we win our prelim. I very much doubt that the full allocation will be taken up as we will only have 1000 or so fans in Melbourne and 13K have to get across Australia.

I had the GF flights and accomodation pre-booked in 2006 (worst GF ever!). I had a heap of Eagle and Freo mates in Melbourne and we all got GF tickets through Eagle members we knew. A lot of friends of friends but no one missed out. They had less then than the new allocation to fans (extra 4-5K).

The big issue for fans is getting there. Both winning the prelim and flights to the game. I don't think people need to stress about members passing off their barcode to a fellow Freo fan. Better to have our full 14K there than hand back another 2-3K that fill up with corporates or Geelong/Hawk fans (sorry Port).

I posted this in the other thread:
http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/fu...73356/vc-hero-ben-ready-for-grand-final-trip/

Fremantle members who want to attend the grand final must register their interest tomorrow for 14,000 tickets, allocated to the club in the event it makes the grand final. Those with financial harbour master memberships or who registered for a grand final upgrade at the start of the year can register at ticketek .com.au from 6am to 1pm.
All other members will go into a ballot system for tickets and can register from 2pm to 7pm.
Dockers chief executive Steve Rosich said 6000 members had bought grand final upgrades, leaving 8000 tickets to other members.

the Dockers have warned members not to hand over their barcodes as these could then be used by others to purchase Prelim tickets on Monday. They said:

We can confirm that the selling of barcodes is not allowed or encouraged by either the Fremantle Football Club or the AFL.

if there are particular barcodes that come to the clubs or the AFL’s attention we do reserve the right to cancel those barcodes.

I tried searching for this and could not find the result so if you could link us to the source that would be great. I don't really see the problem anyway. It's the member's choice to offload their barcode. Should also note that it only says selling of barcodes so the loaning of them must be fine.

I'm in the same boat, if there are any fellow Dockers members out there who aren't planning to attend the Grand Final, I'm looking for a barcode (or 2) for a family member.

they put it on their facebook and also in an email they sent to me...don't believe me? call or email them or am happy to supply a copy of my letter from Drue Goodwin (Membership Services Team Leader)

and this from facebook

  • Fremantle Football ClubWe strongly recommend not giving out your barcodes. Please remember you will need your barcode if you are planning to buy tickets to the preliminary final when tickets go on sale on Monday
