What's our predictions / info on Jai Clark this coming season... do we think he'll be in our round one squad ready to hit the packs or is he a long term prospect ?

Feel like he will be a major component in our rebuild.

How he is used next year will kind of be a baromater to what our clubs intentions are

Thought Knevitt was pretty good this year in the games he played. He's one of those where you're not quite sure what his best position is. Wonder if he could play in the back line with his marking capability ?

Looks to me that he’s more a mid/wing player. I’m not convinced he’ll yet make it but he has some positive attributes such as his endurance and overhead ability. He’s only young but you’d want to see further improvement next season from him.

Shannon Neale being referred to as a ruckman gives me flashbacks to the description of the famous "Peter Street Stand" at the river end pocket................temporary and not very good.

Neale is not a ruckman, and just because he's tall doesn't mean he has a clue in that position. Tyson Stengle is small but it doesn't mean he's a gerbil.
Our last two premiership ruckmen weren’t either, but they learnt.

I don’t see ruckman in Neale either but how many saw that in Rhys Stanley two years in?

Which I'd be happy with, but as long as we recruit a ruckman
I thought we were 100% going to get a C grade replacement for Ceglar now that he has retired.

But now I'm not so sure. We may well still might get a state leaguer very late in the draft or rookie draft. But it makes me think of 2020 when Stanley was injured of parts of the year and the MC decided to ruck Blicavs and Esava rather than play Fort.

If we have no intention of playing the backup even if Stanley/Conway are injured, which would be the whole point of having them on the list, then why bother even recruiting one in the first place?

If not for the academy picks those would be solid offers

Except that this year there’s seems to be quite a margin in talent between Reid and the next player. It’s not as close as in previous years hence why WC are wanting such a premium. I don’t think a trade for 1 will now eventuate.

If they could get Walter at 2 and then have a couple of other picks towards the back of the first round, they may have been tempted.

For me... He's actually neither.
Has shown a little bit of both.
His U/18 highlights you'd swear he was the second coming of Peter Moore.
He has a long ways to go.

I have to wonder how much of that gap is in everyones collective heads.

100%

Lets agree that he has deficiencies in his game in multiple roles... but it took Stanley years to harness his obvious natural gifts. Lets get games into him and see what he becomes. My observations in his afl efforts so far ..have simply been he has looked good enough to get on the end of a few kicks upfield, he has shown great at leap but has failed bring one down. Taken some shots at goal id have bet that he would have kicked one or two of ... Does he have the personality to be a gun #1 ..and own a forwardline ? Too early to be sure but he has shpwn enough to get games into him and lets see what he becomes...

Are you referring to Neale not being a ruckman or Stengle not being a gerbil?

I think think there's a greater likelihood of Stengle being a gerbil personally.
