Deakin it is. Just about all the squad training yesterday.

Willis in full training.

With vests on quite a few hard to identify . Lots more talls making it more difficult.

Didn't notice either Guthrie, Mannagh having ankle strapped but didnt look much wrong.

Structured training, not a lot out of the ordinary happened, let's hope it stays that way.

Cam Guthrie is training in the US. Blicavs and Bews are training in WA.

Who is training at your club?

Adelaide: Sid Draper, Tyler Welsh
Brisbane: Levi Ashcroft, Sam Marshall
Carlton: Ben Camporeale, Lucas Camporeale
Essendon: Jobe Shanahan, Archer Day-Wicks
Fremantle: Bo Allan
Gold Coast: Leo Lombard
Geelong: Jonty Faull
Hawthorn: Xavier Lindsay, Josh Smillie
Melbourne: Harvey Langford
North Melbourne: Finn O'Sullivan
Richmond: Tom Gross, Jagga Smith
Sydney: Joel Cochran
West Coast: Malakai Champion
Western Bulldogs: Sam Lalor

Wonder where Faull sits within the 2024 Draft range...

I see he is mentioned late R1 in Davo's 2024 phantom. Really its a long way out and looking at 2023 as an example players dropped after poor 2023. Faull's performance thru 2024 will have big impact on where he is drafted.

Hey that Xavier Ivisic from the Falcons any good? We could use a winger
I wasn't a fan. He's very slight and his foot skills aren't the best.

He was underage though so he's still got time.

I'd rather have Lalor training with Is.
How often does the player end up with the club he trained with? I remember we had Stringer for example.

It will be interesting to see if we go hard again at a tall... KPF player like Faull or McInnes. I do like we have topped up with talls. It puts less urgency/desperation into the trade targets.

In these days of long 4, 5 or more contracts.. 2 years seems pretty tepid. A bit of security but lets just see where we are in 2 years time. If he becomes their best forward ..he probably gets a new contract before the two years is out.

If he wanted to come to Geelong he had to force the issue this year. If I was him I would have leveraged the interest to get a 4 or 5 year deal at Port. He could legit not be in the system by the time the current extension ends.

Be interesting to know what contract length Geelong would have offered him? Certain it would have had to have been more than 2 years. Risky move as you say.

He already had a year remaining, it was a two-year extension so more a three year contract. He’s signed until end of 2026.

For both Port and player... 2 years is tepid. My bet if he was a JUH type.. Port would have offered the 5 years. 2 years seems to indicate a degree of uncertainty on both parties ... a good start but lets see where we are in 2 years. ..but as Boris said...its 2 years on 1 so three years a reasonable length of time. Im not sure how many players I'd offer 4 to 5 years at Geelong ...thats a longtime.

If they really wanted him... they probably would have offer something like that to try to sway him.

If there is anything to the Cadman talk... it would have to be a 5 year type deal. I wonder what sort of deal for someone so early in his career would be realistic.

Cadman's stats in the VFL for a first-year player stack up really, really well compared to other young key forwards.

He still has plenty of room for improvement, but his current trajectory is tracking fine.

I have not studied his VFL stats but the glimpses of what I saw would give GWS a few head nodds of confidence. Wonder if he has been offered a big contract by them?
