What would Stengle get us in compensation if a club was to offer him 800k?

How is any of that relevant to the $ salary cap that you would pay Greene vs Stengle? Both clubs have the same salary cap.Thats a bit irreleevant though because gws have more high picks than they know what to do with.
For us normal clubs that dont have that asset the question is do you focus your limited high picks and cap space on small forwards, or mids and key forwards?
The data says a high %of small fwds can come from late picks and lower contracts whereas elite mids and kpfs overhelmingly tend to need to be draftef in the first 2 rounds initially and cost high $ in trades.
That’s why he now plays half back and not mid/wing.Duncan has been good but has the turning circle of the QE2. Id be surprised if his calves have 12mths left
Ideal in a sense. If you got say band 1 compo for stengle (pick 15 say) that and a r2 should do it for smith.

Stengle is a 25 year old free agent with no strings attached. And a top 15-20 player in the comp to boot.
That combo is as rare as hen’s teeth.

Straight line running.
And that role he still performs well.
I agree with that but you will notice hes also far too often kicking inside 50 (because we struggle for ball use i50 kicks) and oppo are playing through him on the rebound if we turn it over.
This is why he shouldnt leave D50 and why mannagh should be on a wing/hf (for the kicking inside 50).
I would pay $900k+ per annum for at least 5 years. What do you value him at then?
I don’t think that is how it works.Because gws can afford to pay overs in the knowledge that if it pushes another player out they have a conga line of high picks to replace said player with. The rest of us have to be more judicious with our choices.
If we get no rd1 compo for stengle because we add wood then yikes
Let's say we don't make finals and our first pick is at 11 and we use that on Bailey Smith and use Stengle pick in the draft, id be happy with that.Id prefer smith over stengle but if smith isnt coming id probably prefer stengle over pick 15ish.
StengleQuestion to you.. What would you rather... Keep Stengle.. or use that pick for Stengle and give it up for Bailey Smith
if we struck out on smith, i wouldnt look at anymore mature guys like mason wood. I plan further out and put the hard word into big time guys like cadman or wardlaw type as an example. both out at 2026 as it stands.
Are you saying that you would happily trade Stengle plus our R2 for smith on a big contract?Ideal in a sense.
Strengthen the midfield right now, while still hedging our bets by keeping our first and our future first.
If it all goes wrong next year when with Smith in the side, we're at least still hitting the draft.
That's a pretty serious accusation to throw around based on very little. On what basis would you think this to be the case?
Be careful, because your post above could easily be interpreted as casual racism.
With football, there is never straight lines and running straight... Anything happensThat’s why he now plays half back and not mid/wing.
Straight line running.
And that role he still performs well.
Go to the draft instead of grabbing wood. Use the wood money to pay stengle. If we get no rd1 compo for stengle because we add wood then yikes
Surely 800k isn’t overpaying for Stengle.Personally I don’t care how good of a small forward you are
You don’t overpay for them.
I’d prefer the money for a gun midfielder

I highly, highly doubt Commando was insinuating anything discriminatory in their post.
If there is anything resembling racism here, our mods quickly stamp it out.
