He certainly does seem like he has a chip on his shoulder let’s hope he saves some of it for the field. I’d have liked to add another decent midfielder but I think the club needs to work on tightening the reigns a little with negative stories coming out of the club.
They’ve not all been big issues but they’ve added up and created a negative vibe around the club. I’m glad we at least didn’t add to this with more players with other negative issues contributing.

Obviously time will tell, but at the end of the day, motivation is temporary and you can't outrun who you are.

I suspect we'll see a bump in his fortunes for the first half of the year, but by the end of next year he'll be back to his old ways.

What were most thinking about Bartel when he first arrived, or even JCorey and Corey Enright. Some players do not look exceptional as juniors, but in the right environment...

Jack Henry was just ok in the VFL. He lifted in the senior environment.

I don't think Melbourne covered themselves in glory - shopping him around, then suddenly pulling it back and declaring he's not for sale at any price, was a poor way to treat a player.

But at the end of the day, Clayton really did make his own bed with the Brownlow behaviour, the bags, the lack of fitness, the holes in wall, the wiper bending.

Jack Henry was just ok in the VFL. He lifted in the senior environment.

Jack Henry was promoted well before he was ready - he did most of his development in the seniors.

While I love Rhys and always will for 2022 we’ve gotta get games into the youngsters for the ruck spot.
Someone has to come and take the ruck mantle from him.

Clark, Knevitt, Edwards, Martin, Stevens, Polkinghorne, OHenry, Mellor (our NGA kid) etc etc
They all need to be knocking on the door for selection each week.
Means our blokes can’t be complacent or take spots for granted.

Also Cam Guthrie just got delisted….crazy how that was only a few years ago that he was our BnF.
Time moves quickly and he couldn’t stay fit.
Wonder if someone else will take a crack at him?

We really missed him these last three years. Meant we were asking probably 20% too much of some of our other mids at times. Even more when we had injuries.

Considering we've carried him on the list for the past three years, it had to be done, as sad as it is. And shows just how quickly things can change in this game. Flag and B&F to just 10 games over the next three seasons.

But gee, 3/4 of peak Guthrie would have been handy at times over the past two seasons...
