i just wanna say i hope Aaron has a good year with the saints, being a carlton supporter i still like to see how Aaron is going with the saints.....to all the carlton supporters booing him.....GROW UP, U DONT OWN HIM, HE IS HIS OWN PERSON!
and to the saints supporters booing matty lappin, just remember, he was asked to leave not the other way around. and it was years ago u have to get over it!!!

having watched hamill for a year i can see why so many carlton supporters were shattered when he left. imho he is in for a big year this year mainly because he will be a lot more settled now that the emotion has gone from the transfer. he is very much respected and admired by saints supporters for his attack on the football and his professional work ethic.

football is an emotional past time, so i've got no problems with people letting off a bit of steam by boooooing former players. i couldn't be bothered personally but will have a chuckle with my mates when we see the great sam cranage run out onto the ground.

and Lappin is proving that the decision to let him go was the right one, (not football related)
If we are to boo him it is because despite repeated warnings off field incidents got in the way of him being a good St Kilda player. (yes I know he is not the only one we should be booing)

I'm with you Luke. I'm another Carlton supporter and even though it was a shame that we lost Aaron, I would love to see him do well with the Saints cos he is a great player. And I'm one of the Carlton supports who never boos him.

As for Lappo, well I'm glad the saints got rid of him cos I'm rapt that we got him. The Saints did make a mistake getting rid of him cos he is a great player. Sure some off field incidents stopped him playing well for the Saints but he had some off field incidents last year, yet managed to play the best year of footy so if St Kilda had of given him a chance, he'd be a great player for you guys. Expect a lot more great things from Matty

Matthew Lappin was at St.Kilda for 5 seasons, after one good season in 1997 he went off the rails. Nearly killed himself driving drunk against the flow of traffic in 1997 and several other stupid incidents followed.

He had a pathetic 1998 and there was no point in hanging onto someone that had a) severe personal problems b) bad influence around the club and most importantly c) no contribution on field.

It was deemed a new start would be best for Matthew which it was.

There would be no point hanging onto a player that does nothing at your club, he's doing well elsewhere & St.Kilda salvaged a couple of potential players out of the deal.

Yay for both of us.
