Nah Jess, for Cadel, who is easily the best pursuit rider in the lead bunch that time isn't difficult to make up. He made up over two minutes in the same race last year. In a much shorter pursuit leg in this year's race he made up 1m15 or so, I think he can do it.

Though got to keep an eye on the Russian behind him, I think another 20 seconds or so. He is good.

2nd again, which is a ****ing sensational result in itself but the fact is his team isn't good enough. The last 7 stages he was basically on his own while every other team flogged him every moment they could while protecting their leaders, especially on those last few mountain stages (which were some of the best cycling you will ever see).

He busted his gut to have the opportunity to win it in the last time trial but he was just too fatigued.

Plus, he said Aussie motorists are the worst drivers in the world when it comes to safely driving passed bike riders , citing specifically the great ocean road (he has a house down there somewhere).
