I hope the club comes out swinging this week.
We have been systematically held back at every step since stealing buddy from GWS/Mike Fitzpartick. Two year trade ban for following the rules. Having the academy rules changed on the fly to make it harder again. Being systematically umpired out of a grand final.

Farce of a competition.

If we had a few more players go harder we'd have another premiership.
You know what, if we had have gone harder, we would have been penalised for more high tackles, called for in the back, 50m would have been paid for contesting marks. Yeah some players weren't at their best, but when you get penalised for contesting a ball that has been fine all ****ing season and all of a sudden you are being penalised for it, of course you are going to back it off.

I agree with this and yet don't agree with it.

We can't expect our players to make tackle after tackle without getting a result. Most times, the Dogs would throw the ball to advantage as the tackle was happening and we suddenly were on the back foot.

That said, Kennedy should be captain.

Grrrrrr ...
Don't feel as flat as 2014. Just feel really PO.

Changes.
Next time a young guy like Hewett comes in with a perfect technique for grabbing free kicks. I am going to applaud him.

Swans took the high road and it has cost us.

THIS IS GOING FORWARD, NOT THE GRAND FINAL THREAD

THIS IS GOING FORWARD, NOT THE GRAND FINAL THREAD

Going forward, we have a good enough list to win a flag. Same Reid and Aliir back will make it better. Love to see some genuine leg speed in the team - but we will be good nough.

The umpiring against us was diabolical all year. At the SCG, we get smashed. Only way to combat this constant exposure - shame these cheats into treating us fairly.

The AFL don't give a #### about us anymore. We have to be pro active with this before next year.

Basically, it'll be much like this year. An internal show of faith in the youth of the list.

Newman, Rose, Robinson, Dawson (?) Etc.

Hewett, Papley, Marsh, Mills, Heeney, Xav, Naismith, Lloyd, Jones and Aliir Aliir are all still just starting their careers. I believe in all of them.

That wasn't our best 22 side yesterday. It was close. But we can improve simply via getting everyone fit.

Aliir Aliir adds rebound and defensive marking (frees up rampe)

Sam Reid comes in as a marking forward. Lets us revert Xav back into more of a top 24 swingman role and/or transition back into defence as Reg declines.

McGlynn retires.

Maccas game time diminishes.

Rose builds his accuracy and defensive game and hopefully comes in as a goal kicking forward.

Teddy retires

Marsh and Robinson come into side

We throw the kitchen sink at retaining Mitchell or find a sweet player/draft pick as compo.

We see what options we get for Towers (if he asks to leave), nankervis etc.

And I guess most important of all, we unearth another star or two out of the newbies and rookie list.

We're okay.

Going forward , the club really needs to be honest in their reviews. We were beaten by sub par competition and it isnt acceptable. kennedy and jones are the only 2 players that give 110% every time they play.

too many times it appears to me at least some players nearly take a week off and go through the motions.

Heeney has to be moved into the middle and i would like to see mills play forward of the centre next year. Whats the poin of having an elite kick at hbf when we have no run or penetration in the middle of the ground?

Mills can penetrate and kick the ball to the mids lace out all day long, only for them to slow the play in the middle.

As good as we were this year, we need to rejuvinate the team again next. this year we unearthed some youth gems that will no doubt be good players for a long time, but next year we have to make them key players and change our style.

Imo we need to transition away from jack and macca. Both are capable of playing good football but they are getting on and the game is passing them speed wise.

Mills needs to either play hf or hb but be integrated into the middle at stages as part of his learning curve. It might be a far out theory, but we should try something crazy and have our best kickers actually kicking into 50. Its incredibly bizarre that your best field kick is also your best forward. unless we can get the rules changes and teach buddy to teleport so that he can mark his own kicks, mills amd heeney need to be sending us forward.

I love jpk, parker and hanners but they are butchers with the ball.

Next year the current brigade of kennedy, parker and hanners need to be doing the grunt work and heeney and mills to be kicking the majority of our forward entries.

Jones has to be an integral part next year, his aggression is unmatched by any player in our squad and has the unusual ability for a swans player to actually be able to kick, break lines with run and tackle to maime.

I dont care if he gives silly frees or the occasional 5o (as long as he is controlled) he sets the tone and puts opposition under pressure.

Just a couple of thoughts

Persecution works just as well as being underrated at bonding a group.

We're not loved. Let's use it.

We need to be the hunters next year. We have a preseadon and a few month next year to work out who is prepared to hunt the ball and hurt his opponent.

Get rid of those who aren't up for it. Simples.

Definitely need to change the mix.

Still incredibly filthy that's the best we had. GWS incoming now. Our drafting for so long prioritised dudes that can tackle and follow structures. We can't kick, we can only create scoring opportunities from turnovers in the corridor during high end games. The list horse has built. No creativty, regimented foot soldiers.
We've been built to go deep but ultimately always blasted by a side that wants it more and will find a scoring opportunity because they're inspired and have footskills.
