Gold Coast SUNS guernsey discussion

I think thats as good as it gets with the colours we have chosen.
So many clubs have similar colours
Just gotta try and be a little different. i dont mind the one with the blue in it.
I think if we were to use something like this our clash would look more like Adelaide/Brisbane

like this
yeah although I liked you're first design better (with no blue). I did see one that had a white outline and that looked very good. But somehow I believe we need to incorporate blue somewhere in our jumper.

These aren't my designs..
Just posted a few from the jumpers idea thread.

I'm sure everyone here remembers when the club gave the fans the opportunity to choose the clash guernseys:

RRq9qAl.jpg

The fans didn't choose the Geelong-style hoops and that was probably a good thing given it would have been almost identical to a previously used Titans jersey:
N2LNb2y.jpg

Instead, the chevron design was chosen by the fans and that may have something to do with paying homage to the Southport Sharks jumper. So obviously GC supporters are more inclined to choose that design but the problem is avoiding a clash with the old Bears jumper:

V7vtbvK.jpg

A predominately red jumper that features a yellow chevron is going to inevitably resemble the old Bears jumper and Brisbane won't allow that. So what's the solution? What about this design:

u8LSlu2.jpg

Perhaps a blue chevron similar to this:

y8oQPxg.jpg

GC supporters also seem to be open to the idea of a skyline jumper similar to some NBA jerseys:

5bBDdiR.jpg

The problem with that design is the skyline is regularly changing on the GC. It will become dated pretty quickly. So what's the solution? There is talk that ASF is going to build an iconic bridge over the Southport Broadwater over the next few years so the Suns could use that for their jumper in the same way the Golden State Warriors use it:

4WDgJWH.jpg

It's a dilemma. That's for sure.

credit to the man who made up the mock up designs but these two are the jumpers are the best I'v seen so far.

I really like that home Guernsey! Works in the skyline and the colour blue well, and the blue underneath makes it look like your looking at the skyline from off the coast, with the blue being ocean. Also doesn't make the logo stick out as obnoxiously. It also isn't too modern/hip/juvenile (lions paddelpop), but also isn't exactly the same as any other team, a la chevrons. Probably the best home mock-up I have seen.

i did these ones up back in 2014. a couple are obvious rip off's from current designs, but i do think we're a bit lacking in the creativity department at the moment.

some point down the track i'd like us to utilise the "GC" in our logo more on our guernsey, and steer away from the current one (see 5th and 6th image as example).

Is there any update on BLK?
http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au...s/news-story/e52705e4fd853155d4027290b276e802

TIMOR-Leste and Fiji based investors have purchased troubled sports apparel brand BLK from receivers.

The consortium led by Esperança Timor Oan (ETO), an East Timor based oil and energy company, bought BLK operator World Rugby Specialists for an undisclosed sum.

World Rugby Specialists and World Rugby Specialists Group went into receivership in November partly due to an overinvestment in unprofitable sponsorships of professional sports teams.

It had major club sponsorship deals with the Gold Coast Titans and Gold Coast Suns as well as making dozens of in-kind contributions to grassroots clubs all over the Gold Coast.

ETO Executive Director Nilton Gusmão dos Santos said the purchase was in line with ETO’s plans to expand beyond the energy sector.

Mr dos Santos said the BLK business would be housed within a new company, BLK International.

BLK International will retain the existing BLK executive team and senior management, including Tyron Brant, chief executive since 2014.

Mr Brant said the major loss to the BLK business had been its supply contracts to four AFL teams and the Gold Coast Titans in the NRL.

“Despite the clubs terminating their arrangements with BLK, BLK International is confident that it will be able to replace that lost business over the medium term once it has rebuilt confidence in the brand,” he said.

WRS grew rapidly in recent years, opening offices in Japan, UK and US and factories in Fiji and China.

The company changed its well-known KooGa brand to BLK in 2011.

It had 80 staff at its Helensvale head office, a factory in Fiji with 130 workers and 25 sales representatives around the world.

The company was dealt a blow in February when Cyclone Winston struck Fiji, causing extensive production delays. Its factory was unable to resume full production until May.

Four AFL teams? They had 5 I think. Does that mean one team is staying?

may have not included st kilda, who from memory only announced they signed with blk a few days before it was announced they were going bust?

either way, we're definitely not with them. they've been removed from our sponsors page.

ideally i'd like puma, i've always liked their look. supposedly we'll be getting isc though. you'd think it'd be announced before the preseason games. would be pretty awkward to be running around in blk gear. :/

that's what they make masking tape for, would be hilarious to see tape on the BLK and Fiat logos. The Vic media would have a ball

I find Puma to be my most hated, followed closely by Nike. I'd be down for ISC. But a few clubs have left them lately, so must be for a reason?

we will be with X Blades in 2017

TWENTY20

Cool. Weird way for it to come out, unless it was an oversight by the membership team? Should expect an announcement in the next few days Im guessing.

Can't say I know much about them or their quality. Didn't they sponsor North for a while?? Either way surely its better than BLK.

I wonder if we've got our new sponsor yet as well and will announce them both together?
