Good Call / Bad Call

Bad call. Too many contracts and the ground isn't AFL ready.

Scott Stevens plays best when allowed to settle in one position rather than being a sometimes forward, sometimes back utility

Good call.

Scott Stevens being used as a swingman has helped us to win games despite negatively impacting on his personal performance.

Good call, as with a lot of our players we don't have any idea about the role they are being asked to play. We can only guess given Stevo was given a 2 year contract that he is doing all that is asked of him.

Scott Thompson's behaviour off the ground means he will never captain the AFC

Good call. Nathan van Berlo will be the next skipper in the mould of Mark Bickley. Solid honest hard at it player, with a squeaky clean record and superb media presence and profile.

Adelaide's selection of the two talls in Sellar and McKernan was partly prompted by the difficulty in choosing just one and some public criticism no matter which one they chose. Taylor Walker's decline in form gave them the way out to pick both and avoid that problem.

Bad call. Nothing to do with "public criticism" or "the way out". Just a good decision by the match committee.

The Crow's list is potentially as good as any in the AFL.

Good Call, it is potentially the best list, just a matter of seeing how development goes with players.

Brett Burton will return to the form he was in pre-injuring his knee either this year or next year

Sorrry what did he do? One driving incident? Hasn't our current captain had an indiscretion. That driving things means our best/second best player can't captain a club why?

Bad call. He still might be a serviceable player, but can't see him being the dynamic match winner he was pre-injury.

Good Call

As will Jimmy Sellar

Bad call. Can't see him doing enough in any one game to catch the eye. Wouldn't rule out him getting a cheapie late in the season though, once all the guys like Ward and Grimes who have missed out so far have got one.

This article would never have made it onto the AFL website, if not for stabby's thread on the main board.

ADELAIDE recruiting manager Matt Rendell believes the draft concessions awarded to the Gold Coast and western Sydney in the coming years will see the AFL’s two newest teams establish complete dominance over the competition by 2015...

Bad call. It seems demand for tickets is dropping. Ironically, the fact that we have a membership waiting list might be the reason why theres such demand for our memberships. People think 'we cant let these seats go, we'll never get back in'.

This is exactly right people won't be holding on to their tickets on the basis that they couldn't get one later on.

Hentschel will announce his retirement before the season is over?

Sad call. :( I think you may be right (making it a good call) but it'll be a sad day.

Our "re-build" appears to be happening quicker than expected.

not so sure call - we have a team with some youngsters that are full of confidence, only a matter of time before it disappears for the time being, but hell it's exciting

van berlo > god

Interesting call, you do wonder how many journos float around here looking for their next headline.

Silly call but then I am not into the whole VB is this and that train.

Sellar will surprise tomorrow night and have a better match than SMACK.

Too hard to call because ground time for each is unknown and could be the determining factor.

On the basis of even ground time, I'll say bad call.

Tippett will definitely extend his contract with the Crows until the end of 2012 after the season is over, but not before playing ducks and drakes for a while to make Adelaide nervous and squeeze more dollars out of them.

Good call. He has a good agent.

By re-drafting delistings, the Crows list will only have 2 changes next year, Gill and Gallman for 2 youngsters.

Bad call we will move more on than that me thinks.

As much as they deny it, Port fans are one of the biggest bandwagon followings in the league.

Mixed Call. (Every Club has its bandwagon followers. Every single Club. I think Port has an identity crisis at the moment - calls itself Port, occasionally plays like Port but more often than not doesn't, and certainly isn't "living the creed"! Not much for the fans to get excited about! ;) )

Crows midfield is returning to its glory days.

Mixed call. It's early days and I'm not sure we have the spread of class in the midfield now compared with Roo, McLeod, Goody, Edwards, Johnson, Bickley.

I think we are one elite mid short. Thommo, Danger and Vince are all class. Mackay is close. VB a solid hard working mid. Knighta seems to have found his spot on the HFF but will no doubt rotate through there. Otten will run through the midfield in a few years as well. If we are really going to return to those glory days we need to recruit / develop one more really elite mid with good run and carry and excellent skills. A Gibbs would be very nice to complete our future midfield.

Who knows. It's looking good so far. It will be interesting to see if Davis develops into that tall utility type who can run through the midfield that Rendell thinks he can. He may be the missing ingredient.

"We are in the process of developing the best forward line we've ever had"

big call - signs are good

not getting pavlich last time was a blessing in disguise

Good Call. As much as pavlich is a great player, I really dont like how so much is stacked on his shoulders. Id hate the crows to rely so heavily on one player. Not getting him has influenced the crows drafting picks, and now we have the makes of an elite 6 forward line

Port Power claiming Cassissi as the 87th captain of the club is ridiculous, thats a new captain every 6 weeks...
