Is that a huge water slide coming off the roof? I'm definitely going to try make it to training once they move there!

thats good did you see brisbanes new base funding by feds taken now.
Wait what happened? The feds have withdrawn their funding of Brisbane's training base?

On another note, $25million has now been set aside from the Federal and state government for the Centeral West project plus whatever the local council is kicking in.

They're saying $106 million to build and fit out this thing. Anyone know how this compares to other clubs budgets when they've updated their facilities? I'd imagine Essendon and Collingwood had a significantly larger budget.

Good to hear - but have you noticed that every single promo image of this development leaves out the hulking great power-lines that run past the site?

IIRC, EMF radiation from high voltage power-lines is a known carcinogen and has been linked to elevated leukaemia rates in kids who live nearby - if the walls and roof are made from conductive materials and are well-grounded then there shouldn't be a problem, aside from maybe lousy mobile phone coverage.

EMF cancer link has never been proven as far as I know

We'll just get all the players to wear tin foil hats to training to protect themselves.

Hope it's a "Core" budget commitment.
I'm gonna pretend all the extra rego, water, power costs for the year, reported to total $324.18 are going straight to fit out Josh Simpson's locker.:D:p:thumbsu::rainbow:

I remember reading an article a while ago saying that with childhood leukaemia there was a direct correlation but the jury was out in regards to other cancers...

...Had a quick look on Google and while it currently seems unlikely, it's still not completely ruled out: http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/can...ions/does-electromagnetic-energy-cause-cancer

It is as "excluded" as it can ever be.

Very large sample sizes of those under lines vs those not under lines show zero correlation.
