Good win ya bastards!

You were definitely the better team on the day and deserved to win, but I don't think the 33 point margin does justice to the Eagles.

Just out of curiousity, and not meaning to rub salt into the wound or anything, but what happened to Wilson? Was he shut down by the Bearded Bandit (Nicho)?

He played a shocker, thats what happened! Mind you, I wasn't too impressed with Embley at FF, its called marking the ball son. Then you go back and kick goals, you know, like a full forward should do. Embley frustrates the hell out of me, he was going on good leads and then he kept bloody dropping the ball.

Speaking of Nicholson, he was lucky not to give away a couple of frees to Gaspar. Blatent push in the back before marking is usually a free isn't it?

Wilson didnt get near the ball much since the delivery to him was pretty shocking. However, full credit to Nicholson who did a really good job on him when he did get near the ball

Good win by the Demons, looked very impressive, especially your midfield and defence.

I think Wilson spent a lot of time on the bench. He didn't spend much time at full forward. What I would have liked to see is Jako go back to CHB and get Wilson onto Full Back to try and get Neitz under control.

And I agree with Embley's efforts. There were two marks that he dropped in the third quarter than should have been easy goals if he had been able to go back and take the tick. That really hurt us.

It's called the Ingerson influence. :D Can anyone else see the similarities between the two?

He's now beaten Thompson, Tredrea, Ottens and Wilson. Not a bad list of victims.

Wilson was quiet for the game because he was amazed to hear how and why Nicholson is the only current AFL player to have a beard.

Actually, that isnt true. Glenn Freeborn and Shane O'Bree have both followed suit.

But, Nicho will always be remembered as "The man who started the trend".

Very true. Add Waiklin (Collingwood version) to the bearded list.

Mate, if Wilson suddenly announces on Monday that he's growing a beard I'm going to be a little worried about what effect Nicholson has on his opponents :D

Thank you for saying that. Melbourne has a habit of taking the foot of the pedal as was shown in the last ten minutes of the 2nd quarter and the last quarter. When Melbourne are good they are good, but when we are bad they are bloody shocking.
As for the Eagles, they look a lot better this year and will be hard for many teams to beat at home.

very true... funny we couldn't beat them when they weren't playing well, but now that they ARE playing well - we can beat them
oh well, lets hope both teams - more melbourne then WCE - are good teams this yr :D

I agree.

Our best and worst are way too far apart, where as the Lions etc even when they play badly, are still in contention of winning games. As soon as we relax.........BOOM! We tend to lose our way really badly.

The way we had it going, we should have won by 10 goals.

i'm hoping that even tually we'll be as good as the lions aswell... maybe then we won't need to worry too much about if we're going to have a good game or not... if you get what i mean??

We are still a long way from that just yet.

We are currently 3rd of the ladder, many however doubt that we are the third best team in the leauge currently because no one expected us to get this far. So maybe we are not the 3rd best team, but we have won just as many games as Essendon and Adelaide and I couldn't ask for much more.

I doubt it just a bit too. Top 8, even Top 6, yes. But Top 3 is just a little bit beyond us. However, the Hawks, Tigers etc have not produced any sort of form yet, so I reckon we are AT THE MOMENT the 3rd best team in the league.

Adelaide have beaten Geelong (out of form when they played em), Doggies (last) and Sydney. We are better than them.

I think that when the fans start doubting their teams ability you really gotta wonder.... I mean my friend who is also a Melbourne supporter said to me today we might be 3rd but we are not all that good, let us beat Essendon and Brisbane and than we'll talk. I guess I have to agree, at the moment being third means nothing because there is such a huge gap between Brisbane and Essendon and such a huge gap between Essendon and the rest of the teams in terms of form, success and ability. If you think about it we beat only 1 good team in Port coz the way Hawthorn are going at the moment even St.Kilda would beat them. I think that Sydney up in Sydney will be a real challange and if we win over there than we really do have a chance to finish in the top 5 or 6 teams.

Yep, that is a fair enough assesment of where we are at I reckon.

I had nothing else to say at the time, so no comment was the easiest thing to put down.
