Here's a GOLDEN TIP from the site!!!
I had the misfortune to call AXA call centre and was on hold for 23 minutes. Sent them an account for my time and was paid. March 2002 phoned same company and was on hold for 48 minutes. Sent another account and was paid. Cost them $71.00. Dont accept it from anyone, send a letter of complaint and bill them for time wasting. If I want to do business with call centers, send a letter requesting they phone you at a specific and date. It cost nothing if you use their replied paid post number. If we all did it these companies will start to service their clients
My invoice was addressed to the company, just said 48 minutes of time wasting at $60.00 per hour...ie $48.00 state exact time of call and note start and finish. I believe call centers can check.
The covering letter told the company that my time was important and I had more constructive things to do other than sitting on the phone to be answered at their convienience. Make sure the call is addressed personally to the manager of the company.
I also pointed out that my call to them was not in peak lunch period.
I have friends who have sent same letters to other companies and have been paid.
If such a scheme DOES actually work, It might just be worth a try...If so and we all start billing these companies for wasting our time they may look at hiring more staff to accept our calls rather than leaving us in a rotating carousel cue...
