“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Todd Elton to Seymour Football Netball Club for the 2018 season.

Todd was drafted by Richmond with the club's second pick and 26th selection overall in the 2011 AFL Draft. Todd made his debut in round 14 of the 2012 season, in a match against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.

Todd managed 10 AFL games over his six year tenure at the Richmond Football Club. Battling through injuries Todd was a versatile utility for the club and played almost every position in his time there.

Todd was thanked for his time by Richmond at the conclusion of the 2017 season. He has agreed to make Seymour his 2nd club while he continues his VFL Career with the Frankston Dolphins. Todd’s experience will be great to have on board for 2018.

Todd Elton
Age 24: Height: 197 cm:
Playing Position: Ruck Forward

Playing History:
2010-11 TAC Dandenong Sting Rays
2012 - 2017 Richmond FC

Well if the Lions are in the 6 at the business end then Elton will be available as Frankston will not figure in the finals action in the VFL! This is a big pick up if the Lions can get a couple of games out of him in season and then wheel him out in September! Think VFL games can count as local games like TAC...but that could be wrong!

Aaaahhhhhhh !!!!! :D. Not pumping up my own tyres.......but feel im redeeming myself after "Grenfell-gate" !!!!!!

Let’s not get to far ahead Lion! Let’s see if he actually plays first!!! Might not even see him in the lions jumper. But boy I hope he does, great for the GV.
True dees, but got a good feeling about this one........now all i have to do is convince Tugga that he'll need a warm up game in the two's !!! :D

Lions a few weeks back you were quite confident of your recruits fitting within your points, mainly because they were previous players I believe. Since then you may have added a few players but probably of more points. Are you still confident this won’t be an issue when everyone is fit?

Reckon my wise old friend who'll be putting me through the course on Sunday might be able to clear it up for me. Or someone on here might be able to shed some light ??

I suspect 6 points Lion. But well done getting a player of his calibre on the books as it takes me back to the 90's-early 2000's when there were plenty of ex-AFL players running around the GV league.

Great send off at Kings Park today for former Seymour coach and player Russell Cole, father of WC Eagle Tom Cole and uncle of Jason Cole. Highly impressed to see West Coast coach Adam Simpson and a couple of players and officials in attendance at the service. Russ was a ripping bloke who never took a backward step and will be sorely missed.

Side note Blueboy...some promising signs from the Baggers last night I thought. Your opinion?

Met him a few times when I worked alongside his wife...all the best to everyone. A top fella gone too soon

Yes Bootz, I was very impressed with the young Blue Boys. This season will continue to be a learning curve for the boys and from what I hear the Blues will aggressively chase a couple of out of contract gun players at the end of this season. I will finish off with vale Russell Cole, a champion of a bloke.

Your great secretary of the past 29 or so years Gary Brown will have his fingers on the pulse regarding points Lion !!

Reckon you might have something there swoop !!!. He'll give me a run down of it............then remind me of how they never had to worry about that rubbish years ago !!! :D

Just witnessed the best game of GV standard I have seen in recent years. Ky hosted Wangaratta and it was like Ky playing against another Ky team. The constant pressure on the ball carrier was immense and at half time a few of the Ky lads said they haven’t played against such sure ball handlers. There were some freakish goals like Liam Barrett’s effortvto keep the ball inside the boundary line from outside 50 then pick it up and barrel it through on his left with a massive toro. Sam Sheldon said his opponent was the best player to be able to pick up the ball from a half volley and turn and spin he had played against, and the kid was only 16! He said he should be drafted NOW! Wang start next week and their coach said they had 4 players missing from their best team. Ky has at least half a dozen missing. Wangaratta’s 2 big forwards were the difference in the end and they won by 31 points. To the so called experts in the Shepp News who have picked Ky to finish 5th “Tell him he’s dreamin’”.
