I seldom start a thread on our board, never on this board, but today I really wanted to congratulate the Carlton supporters on BF, firstly for your good victory today, and secondly for the fact that almost overwhelmingly, the only Carlton supporters who have posted on our board have been extremely generous and graceful in victory.

I'm sure the majority of us would maintain that a strong Richmond and Carlton only make the competition better, and hope that our rivalry gives us plenty more exciting big occasions like today in future years.

Well done for today's performance and best of luck for the rest of the season.

well said shows alot can;t take getting beaten if they give the shit they should accept it back ;) if they don't their real loosers
least you can take losses good luck against West coast a win to Richmond written on the cards :thumbsu: we should beat the Saints

Yeah i'll copy that. Well played today. Lot's of good young guns on the park for both sides today but the major difference in the end was the leaders stood up for carlton today. Stevens, scotland, fevola very good. Plus some poor finishing from brown didnt help. Until next year then!! :thumbsu:

Cheers guys.

Do you think the talk coming out of Punt road during the week about "the next month" and "the second half of the year being easier" might have just taken the edge off.

Seems like you guys did this week exactly what we did the week before.

Dared to look a few weeks ahead and dropped the ball.

Just a thought. Heard both the coach and Brown make comments to the effect above and thought it was a bit odd.

Well done mate. Bit of a shame for you guys that we rained on your parade but the occasion was always going to fire us up. Don't take it too personally though - we delighted in doing the same thing to the Pies in their centenary match in '92. :D

Exactly good point, lets hope we dont fall for this when we meet St.kilda because it shapes as a very pivotal game, must bring a high level of intensity and purpose to this game.:thumbsu:

Nice post. :thumbsu: But I'll need the names of these well-behaved Baggers. :D

It's a case of sameold for us unfortunately. Big build up, big game, high hopes, improvement shown only to be let down again. We have players who just dont walk the talk and brown was one of them today. Cost us the game IMO. Is paid to kick goals and he didn't. Still Im rapt with some of our kids. Cotchin, riewoldt, morton, hughes, deledio, polo, all very good and promising.

Likewise with the Hird/Sheedy farewell for us.

We were limping to the break and busted our heads open on the last hurdle - a big game at the G against a much improved opposition.

For decades we've been better being the underdog spoiler - the hunter rather than the hunted.

Hopefully we can improve on winning the games where we start favourite in the future.

Cheers guys.

Nah, not really mate, from what I read nobody was daring to talk specifically about finals, just to keep our heads down and keep doing what we've done relatively well so far this year.

I wanted to post my Tiger Down The Drain pic on their board Thy - how do you think I would have gone ;)

Mate, the mood they're in you'd be heading back home fast in a clipart coffin.

They interviewed Wallace before teh game on SEN, and he was going on about playing 7 of the top 8 in the first half of the year, and 7 of the bottom 8 in the second half............Brown said something similar on the footy show 2 weeks ago............they had a peek. No question.

Maybe not talking finals, but definately indicating they had an easier draw in the second half of the year.

Dangerous thoughts IMO.

Much like us looking at Pies, Dons, Tiges, and Saints and thinking about 4 wins and the possibility of finals............I heard our players talking about "a big month" prior to the Dons game.......they had a peek and got done.

All the best to Polak BTW. Shocking news.

You little brown noser, I was just on my way over here to say how disappointed I was at the amount off assholes who came over onto our board pathetically driving the boot in, Some of it in very bad taste. Congrats on the win Carlton.

Love the rivalry, love the history, respect Ricmond, love their song (best in the AFL) and like to see them get a win during these tough times (far removed from the glory days of the 70s and early 80s) - just don't want them to beat Carlton! Go Tiges! Loved the little sideshow between Fev and the Richmond cheersquad and great to see them shake hands at the end of the match!

have to feel for richmond....when was the last time you guys made the finals?? Not being a smartass just interested.
Can't wait until the tigers, bombers and the blues are all playing off in the finals, wont be too long i feel:thumbsu:

Ya get what you give in this life pal. I'd have thought any 'boots' going in is purely reflective of the number of tossers from your board we had to put up with this last week coming onto OUR board and telling us how you were going to spank us and rub our noses in it. Suck it up like a man!;)

Terrible news about Polak - hopefully he news at lunchtime that he's looking better is on the money.
