while I wouldn't go that far, I would say that usually he is a very good keeper and a handy lower order batsman.

having said that today was just not his day behind the stumps.

So if the 27 year old hack Manou is made captain, it's because he must have some talent, but if the 23 year old White is made captain, that's not the case?

What is everyones problem with Manou? He is in the top 5 keepers in the country. Give him a break. Not the greatest batsman but can hit big scores if he gets lucky.

Manou is a good keeper, good hands certainly not the worst in the country. His batting is what stops him from becoming any better, which is constantly ordinary until he produces his one big score a season. Certainly good leader and good keeper, can't think of a better SA keeper in grade cricket to replace him.

White is an excellent leader with some talent but as many point out is a tad overated, espec his bowling. Batting is pretty good no qualms there.
